SOURCE: instructions for theading a Sears Kenmore Sewing machine model 158.14000

all machines thread the same. TTN tension, take up, needle.
Beginning with the spool, guide the thread through the thread guides to the tension assembly. Pull the thread through the tension assembly and test it to make sure the tension is working correctly.
(To do this test, adjust your tension setting to normal or medium or 5 or something in the middle. Raise the presser foot and pull the thread through the tension. It should pull easily!! Lower the presser foot and pull the thread. It should pull noticeably harder.) If it passes this test, continue up through the take up lever, then down through the thread guides to the needle. Make sure your needle is fully inserted and turned the correct way.( If you load your bobbin case from the left side, the needle rule is normally FLAT to the RIGHT is RIGHT. There are some exceptions. If you have a newer style drop in bobbin or your bobbin case loads in the front then the rule is FLAT to the BACK.

To wind the bobbin, guide the thread around the thread guide on
the left top of your machine, then to the bobbin winder. Wind the thread around the bobbin several times, place the bobbin on top of the bobbin winder, push it against the wheel and press the foot pedal. It should stop winding when the bobbin is full or you take your foot off the control

SOURCE: Threading the Bobbin

Place the bobbin in the bobbin case making sure the thread feeds clockwise. Draw the thread through the slot on the case. Continue to draw under the tension spring and through the opening pulling out about 6" of thread. Hold the latch open, position the bobbin case into the suttle and release the latch. THe case should lock into place when the latch is relaeased.

With the top thread, hold out about 5" to the left. While holding on tot he top thread, turn the hand wheel toward you and you should see a loop at the feed dogs. grab the two thread and bring them behind the presser foot.

Please describe the type of bobbin you have. Is it held inside of a removable metal casing? Or is it a dropin type? Is the sewing machine what is known as a "freearm" which you can put a sleeve or trouserleg over or is it a flatbed type? When I know this I can help you further.(I used to sell sewing machines).

If you've threaded the bobbin per instructions... then make sure your needle isn't damaged, bent, or dull. Also make sure the needle is seated fully and correctly oriented into the needle bar.

CANT GET TENSION SET AND ITS SO FAR OFF DONT KNOW WHERE TO START....vogue stitch old..model.label on back says model 1300/1500 or mercury model 704

try www.sewusa.com repairs page for troubleshooting help. start by cleaning and oiling machine. then wind a new bobbin and put in a new needle. load bobbin into bobbin case and ensure thread goes into tension spring. now dangle bobbin case by holding thread tail, bobbin should hang in the air but release thread if you pull it. adjust the tension screw on case 1/4turns only and test again until you get it tight enough to 'dangle'. now load bobbin into rotary hook of machine and thread top. now test sew and adjust top tension in small increments if neede to balance the stitch. but if top tension is wirking okay then 4-6 range should be fine.

I bought my daughter a White sew E-Z so she can have fun on her first sewing machine. However there is no manual and no instructions on how to thread the bobin. the bobin just sits on its flat side to go...

Check the model number of the machine. White sewing machine manuals are available from Singer at http://www.singerco.com/accessories/instruction-manuals . Enter the model number and click Search.

The White Sew E-Z model W338 manual is available here: http://www.singerco.com/uploads/download/705_white-338-x.pdf .

Unlike some machines this one doesn't really need the bobbin threaded. Place the bobbin in the bobbin holder and leave about 5" of thread extended out from the bobbin holder. With the bobbin compartment still open, lower the presser foot and turn the handwheel to move the threaded needle through the stitch cycle. (I find holding the threads helps; normally, you'll feel them pulling under your fingers.) When the needle has returned to the top of the path, lift the presser foot. Then pull both threads around to the front (the bobbin thread should wrap around the top thread). Then move the threads to the back of the presser foot.

If the needle isn't catching the bobbin thread, first try a new needle (bent or dull needles don't always function properly). Next check the bobbin holder for nicks or other damage. There is a small hook on the bobbin holder that should be where the top and bottom threads intertwine. Under rare circumstances, you will find that the bobbin tension of the bobbin holder is misadjusted. This can interfere with the bobbin thread twisting properly. There is a little set screw that allows you can tighten or loosen the bobbin tension as needed. Adjusting the screw is to be avoided when possible and done in small increments (1/8 turn) if needed. It's easy to strip the threads for the set screw and end up needing to replace the bobbin holder.

I hope this helps.

I need instructions threading the bobbin on Kenmore sewing machi

I believe it is a seperate bobbin case, hold the open part of the bobbin case towards you with the finger at the top, hold the bobbin case by the latch, drop the bobbin in so it turns anti clockwise and pull the thread through the slot about 6 inches, keep hold of the latch, and pop the bobbin case in

I need a copy of the instruction manual for the Sew Smart Compact Cordless 17390B.

If pictures are helpful, take a look here

This is for a front loading bobbin

You have not mentioned the machine or model, so if this is not like yours, it will be a top loading or drop-in bobbin.

In either event, the idea is to pass the thread thru a small slot and thereby between a tensioning spring......your Instruction manual will have details for your model, tho' with a little thought, any manual for a similar machine (top or front loading) should give you the basic idea.

If you still have troubles, let us know the make & model.
