1 Answer

Power Out i have been using my B50 machine in my new apartment for about 5 months, and now it causes my "no fault" switch to trip causing my machine to cut off and me having to hit the re-set button on it. i tried using a different outlet on the other side of the counter, but still did the same thing. do i need to buy a new machine or can this problem be resolved?

If both outlets are on the same no fault [ground fault circuit interrupter], I recommend changing the GFCI.

Those are inexpensive and sensitive and usually go bad after they trip a few times.

The switch could be bad. Make sure there are no clogs anywhere that could be causing it to overheat. Try to bypass the switch and run it just long enough to see if you can go longer than the normal 5 min. you're getting. If you can then replace the trip switch. Do not continue to use the machine without the trip switch operating properly or it could catch on fire.

My Fisher/Paykel washing machine keeps tripping the GFCI receptacle that it is plugged into. I have ran one load through it plugged into a standard receptacle and it works fine. what would cause it to trip...

Hi just read your posting.I am in Australia and the term GFCI is new to me.I think in Australia it would be called a Safety Switch. It detects faults to earth and stops any body getting electrocuted. Is this what a GFCI is?Now if it is then at what stage of the cycle is the machine tripping off?Is it when it is filling or washing or draining or spinning. Please reply with the additional information and I can help you track down what is causing this fault.

Hotpoint WDM 73 keeps tripping ringmain when powered on

I suspect that the problem is probably being caused by a fault on the dryer element or thermostat.
Remove the top cover and disconnect the heater, and see what happens..
If it does not trip, then prob is the dryer element or stat.
Hope this helps.

Keeps tripping circuit breaker. Tried different outlets, same results. Used 2 prong adapter and eliminated the problem. Don't know if that is advisable.

you have a ground fault as in theres some electrical part or wire touching the case and all your doing is isolating it from tripping the breaker by using an adapter, you need to get this fixed dont touch the case and anything grounded at the same time or you will receive a 120 volt shock

You probably have a bad plug connection, make sure all the wiring in there is tight, you may see signs of arcing. A bad connection causes resistance, and therefore causes the breakers to trip. It is best to replace the receptacle on the wall outlet with a new one because the problem will just resurface again soon.

Same problem as both above. Humidifier trips after maybe 5 minutes. Top of machine is very warm; there's no on/off switch, so plugging in does nothing until the heat dissapates. What's the solution, to just buy a new piece of equipment?
