Volume keeps going up

When I press volume up it continually goes up, same thing happens when I turn the volume down. This only happens with the remote.

I've done this - but it seems to still be a problem. Its with both up
and down, pressing it again doesn't help - but immediately going to the
receiver and turning the dial does, so its not a physical sticking problem

It is possible then that the button is sticking. You can take it apart and clean around the rubber insert with a cheap bottle of rubbing alcohol and a cotton swab. While you're in there you should clean up all of the contacts too, it'll help save on batteries.

Hi @Rock Aduh , are we talking about the password to go in to the phone? If it is, please perform a factory reset.

1. Ensure the device is powered off.
Note If the device doesn't respond to input, press and hold the Volume Up/Down button then press and hold the Power button. When the device screen goes blank, release the Power button while continuing to hold the Volume Up/Down button then proceed with step 3.
2. Press and hold the Volume Up/Down buttons then press the Power button.
Note When presented with the Boot Mode Selection Menu, release all buttons.
3. Press the Volume Down button to tap Recovery then press the Volume Up button.
4. From the DROID triage screen:
a. Press and hold the Volume Down button.
b. Press and release the Volume Up button.
c. Release the Volume Down button.
5. Select wipe data or Factory Reset.
Note Utilize the volume keys to highlight and the Power button to select.
7. Select Yes -- delete all user data.
Note Data wipe may take several moments.
8. Select reboot system now.
Note To set up the device after the reset has completed, refer to Initial Activation and Set up.

Hope this helps. Factory Data Reset Powered Off DROID RAZR RAZR MAXX by MOTOROLA

Volume keeps going down

This is a problem with the sound select board, and there is no real solution. One thing to try is to press the manual volume up or down buttons on the side of the TV and keep them depressed to see of remote volume control is restored. This over rides the volume creep issue. I solved this by shorting the UP control to ground and the creep went away, but there is no manual volume control any more, but the remote still works.

Vizio 37 inch channels and volume changing on its own

The circuit or integrated circuit being controlled has likely failed. You might try 'resetting' it by pulling the AC plug overnight. If that has no effect, a repair is unavoidable. This model seems to be developing a number of different problems.
