Whirlpool Oven FCSM6 (AKZ496/IX) gone into Demo Mode

Hi there, My Whirlpool oven is approx 8 years old. My son was using it the other day and somehow managed to put it into DEMO MODE. I have searched the manual and online and there is no reference to any Demo Mode. Would be really grateful if someone here could help on how to get it out of this mode. Many thanks

SOURCE: We purchased an LG 30"

Hi

This seems to be an issue with the oven temperature sensor. Please switch off the oven for 30-40 minutes and check, if it doesn't work then check the resistance of the sensor it should be between 1050-1120 ohms. Open the back panel to access the sensor, also Measure value between sensor chassis and any connector pins, it should read open; if any problem replace the sensor. No demo mode for this product. Hope this helps...please post back for further assistance.

Looks like a problem with oven temperature sensor. Some of these models have a thermal fuse which may need to be checked and reset if possible or replaced.

The sensor is not cheap. see site

Auto clean problem

You say you checked the thermal fuse but did you check the broil element for continuity. Most ovens use the broil element for the clean function. The thermal fuse will shut off both the bake and the broil element.

NEmmake sure you removed the correct item first
replace the oven element, located at the rear of the oven compartment, behind a removeable cover.
