I own a mac notebook. Actually this is my second one. Last year around this time it quite working and when I brought it in to have a tech look at it he said there was water damage. You haven't listed any symptoms, so it's hard to say, but water damage is typically caused by spilling drinks on it. If you post with more details on the issue, a better answer might be given.

SOURCE: Mac notebook will not come on

Usually when you spill liquids over an electronic device, it better be off the power. Once it dries you can most cases use it again.
With a laptop thats a different story, because it has the battery in it.

In your case i think:
The battery probably died because of the liquid, i had the same thing happening to my dads laptop. Try to plug the mac in and start it without the battery.

Because the mac came on at all, you can be sure that the mainboard is still working.
If it comes on with the powercord pluged in or a different battery, you should just consider buying a new battery.

Two years are a long time for computer parts. Im not sure, but the battery of the newer notebook might be incompatible to the old one.

So try to get a new battery, since this is the part that dies first when liquids get spilled.

I hope this works for you =)

My Mac Pro just gets a black screen each time I turn it on. The most it has lasted is 5 minutes and the same problem occurs. It has been just about over a year and unfortunely I dont have an extended...

If the screen goes black after 5 minutes that usually indicates an issue with the display inverter.

I wouldn't recommend you trying to fix it yourself since working on Macs isn't easy for non-techs.

I'd recommend you finding a local mac tech on craigslist or Yelp.

Total cost should run around $40-60 depending on your tech.

Hope this info helps ;)

What year was makeup invented?

Actually, the Romans used it over 2,000 years ago... and they brought it back during one of their visits to Japan where Makeup had been used for a long time. Finding out an exact date for the invention of makeup might be a little difficult.

Cannot get past choose country screen. mouse moves but no response. this is second brand new mac that has failed right out of box. Tech support seems baffled. about to switch back to a pc.

Hello
It seems that you can claim for a DOA (dead on arrival). If you plug an external usb mouse to check if it's working or not, you will have a better idea of the problem, that seems hardware for me.
Apple products have a 1 year warranty in general. If bought in the applestore, you have to call them, and they should take care of you.
Hoping they will do their best to keep you as a mac user, and that this helps

My wacom graphire 4 stylus is malfunctioning

In the Control Panel for the pen, hold down CTRL (PC) or ALT (Mac) and click on the About button to open the diagnostic screen. Look at the value for "Pressure" on the right hand side - this should stay at 0 until the pen is brought into contact with the tablet.
If it shows a high value (above 50), then you pen may be defective and, if in warranty, will be replaced. A half hour ago, my pen gave a value of 220 and, being well out of warranty, cannot be replaced for free. However, it now gives a value of 0 and works perfectly. The solution? I bashed it (side on) on the table top and against the flat of my hand for about 10 minutes as per a low-tech solution on the Wacom-Europe forum. With each series of smacks, the pressure fell toward 0. If you can't get it below about 60, it may still be okay as there is a pressure offset control in the diagnostic panel that goes up to 59.
Good luck! Alastair.
