Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,

I would suspect the water inlet control valve may be malfunctioning- not closing (its default no power position).
Quick temporary fix, although tiresome, turn whichever tap, hot or cold, off when washing finished. You've probably already thought of that!
In the meantime I would suggest a service call is required ;-0(

Kenmore washer 110.44832200 When machine is setting, water slowly fills to door level in 2 or three days. Any idea on solution?

If it is filling up with water when the machine is not on, it sounds like the water inlet valve is leaking. Normally no water should enter the machine if it is not running. It is a relatively easy repair. Just remove the hoses from the back, remove the back panel and it the part where the hoses attach. You can get a replacement part from your local appliance supply house or online such as www.repairclinic.com. Hope this helps you.

I just came back after a 5 day trip and found water in my whirlpool duet front load washing machine. How did it get there?

This is usually the result of an impurity in the water supply which has made it past the inlet screen and gotten to the diaphram in the water valve, allowing a bit of water to slowly seep into the machine. Sometimes, just running the next cycle will flush it out, and fix the problem for you. If not, you will have to replace the water inlet valve. (the part the fill hoses screw onto on back of the machine)

After a load is finished and drained properly, several hours later the washing machine has filled with water again. I then have to run a drain cycle to use it.

This sounds like the valves that let the water in are leaking, just a little bit. Over several hours, they leak enough to be noticed.

You can have those valves replaced, or you could shut off the water going into the washer with the valves in your water supply. (the one's that are usually right next to where your hoses connect)

Washer tub slowly (over several days) gets water inside

yes this is more than likely a leaking inlet valve, to confirm turn of water at wall valves

The machine stops after the wash cycle and won't finish.

The code is UE

load too small.
• Load is out of balance.
• The washer has an imbalance
detection and correction
system. If individual heavy
articles are loaded (bath
mat, bath robe, etc.) and the
imbalance is too great, the
washer will make several
attempts to restart the spin
cycle. If an imbalance is still
detected, the washer will stop
and the error code will be
displayed.
• Add 1 or 2 similar items to help balance the load.
• Rearrange items to help balance the load.

Machine fills up with water after cycle finished.  After we did a load of wash and removed the clothes we noticed later that there was water in the machine and it was off.  this has happened...

Hi,

You have a solenoid leaking by. Next time toy finish a load, shut of one of the water supply valves at the wall. If the water does NOT come into the machine after that, you know that you closed the right valve. Once you have determined which side (hot or cold) is leaking, follow that hose to the machine. The hose connects to the solenoid valve, which is just an electrically controlled valve that is either opened or closed. You can try to service the valve, but it is easier to remove and replace it. They don't cost much, and you can get an exact replacement at any appliance parts supply house. Total time to replace...1-1/2 hours.
Best regards, --W/D-- please feel free to rate this solution...thanx!
