Local hardware store would have replacement plugs and yes that would help the situation out. But the problem may lie inside the actual outlet also. So you may want to investigate the problem alittle more unless you have already done so

You could be lacking Refrigerant in your A/C system. And or your Automatic Thermostatic Switch could be going bad. They do tend to wear Quickly. But in anycase, DO NOT try to recharge your system or have any no certified person touch your A/c system. This could Allwo moisture in to your system and destroy your compressor, and if it is overcharged then this could also cause a the cooling effeciency to drasticlly be cut in half. Also could damage the system. A compressor is very epensive. Only allow a 609 certified Tech or an ASE certified tech( dealer, or a/c shop) take a look at this.
This is an advanced problem please dont be overwhelmed by the information.

If it is icing over, it is low on freon. You might have a freon leak if the system is relatively new. It will take a licensed tech to check, fix leak and recharge.
