engine light may mean change or add oil or airfilter is dirty.make sure all hoses are still hooked up.The pause befor starting could be the battery but is more likely the start relay solenoid or the starter brushes are worn and may need cleaning or replacing.the brushes wear out and leave their dust in the starter causing the resistance in the starter to get higher over time.(slow to start spinning,and acts like battery is weak.)
look behind the panel on the left side by the battery. pull the fuse holder down. realease the little clip and tug it downwards. It
sits in grooves and the body of the fuse block just slides up and down.
