Can you tell me what is causing my delta mitre saw motor to run but the blade does not spin powerful enough to cut moulding?

The bolt was tight. It was working properly before and all of a sudden the motor still rev at the regular pace but the blade has not force. Could the Jackshaft Assembly cause the problem?

If the blade is able to be spun when the motor is not running chances are it is the jackshaft. Take the motor off and remove the jackshaft housing. (the jackshaft has a gear on the backside and the blade attaches at the front side) If the gears are not stripped then try holding the shaft that the blade attaches to and spinning the gear itself. If it spins, and it probably will, then the Woodruff key under the gear is stripped. You can order the whole assembly for most saws for $20-$50. Or you can take it to a shop and see if they can press off the gear clean up the shaft and put a new key on. You can even do it yourself if you are up too it. That's what I did for my 10" delta.

Maybe the bolt which holds the blade on is loose. If the motor is on the RIGHT side of the blade, then the bolt has 'left-hand' thread. Turn it counter-clockwise to tighten.

HOW DO I CHANGE THE BLADE ON A 36-070C MITRE SAW

Not sure about the Delta. I've had both a Craftsman and a Dewalt. On both of those, the pivoting plastic guard pivots on a plate on the side of the metal guard. The plate isnt easy to see. You rotate the plastic guard all the way open and you see the edge of the plate held in place by a screw. Remove the screw and the plastic guard and the hub along with the plate it's mounted on can lift up an half inch or so--far enough to get the blade screw off the arbor.
There's a push button somewhere that locks the blade from turning so you can turn the screw in the center of the arbor with a wrench.

Motor runs but the blade spins slow with no torque (maybe something is loose)

Check your saw arbor nut, lift the plate that surrounds the blade, usually 2 philips head screws....put some WD 40 on first. You will see the arbor nut on the main spindle holding the blade. You should have a wrench that came with the saw to tighten the nut. Tighten it firmly, replace the plate. The blade should now cut. Needless to say your disconnect the power cord before you start.

To remove the blade, is the nut right or left-hand threads? Is there a blade lock?

With any circular saw, table saw, metal cut off saw, mitre saw etc the nut always tightens against the direction of rotation and loosens the opposite way

I inherited an older Delta 10 inch table saw. While cutting lumber the blade slows down and stops. The wood is not binding the blade. With power off the blades and motor turn freely. Does the motor...

Two easy possibilities are that the blade is dull or that the wire is too small. The wire is likely to be a problem if you are using an extension cord. You could move the saw near to an outlet that you know to be wired with 12 gage wire (not 14). Or you could buy as short as possible 12 gage extension cord. If being underwired is the problem, you will notice that the motor comes up to speed much faster when wired adequately. You might also buy a cheap new blade to rule out the dull blade problem. If neither of these fixes the problem, then the motor has become "weak" because it has overheated just enough to cause some minor shorts between the windings. (If the shorts are major it won't turn at all and will trip a breaker.) In this case the motor can be rewound, but it will probably be cheaper and easier to just replace the motor.
Good luck, Al K

How to change blades on an old Ryobi 380mm cut off mitre saw?

most of these saws have a push/lock tab on back side of motor housing that pins the shaft for blade change. if you cant find, use a 4/4 wood block to wedge old blade so you can loosen bolt.. hope this helps....chris

Motor stops after about 5 minutes of running

What are you cutting? What type of blade, power supply, etc are you using. It sounds like the thermal overload is cutting out.
Try looking for a little (red) button on the motor itself that pops out slightly when the motor cuts off.(due to overheating). If you push that in, will the saw start running again?

I purchased the Bosch saw blade on Ebay

If the arbors the same and you're running with in the RPM rating, it will be fine. But ALWAYS wear your safety glasses.
