Question about Computers & Internet

I have 4 YE DATA YD 645C-1545C drives, any replacement or repair likelihood?

The "in use" light do not come on, when we use the drive to boot our precious computer. Was to that the drives are bad. Replacement drives make more sense.

Sure.. buy another one.. it is just a flopppy drive. Check it on another computer though to be sure it is not a cable issue or power cable issue.. floppies are everywhere cheap.

Go to any computer-store, with your current floppy-drive,
and ask them to sell you a compatible replacement.

Or, browse through "Thrift Stores" for a "pre-owned" one.

We have a IBM SCSI hard disk, Type: DGHS, P/N: 59H6761, 9.1GB. At boot time, we got error: SCSI ID %: Fail. after that, the system can not identify the SCSI hard disk. Anyone know to identify/fix that...

In all likelihood, your drive has reached the end of its lifespan. You may be fortunate enough to be able to read it just long enough to recover important data, but doing a full copy of the hard drive may be out of the question.
Data recovery, in general, is tricky and not something that can be done by just anyone. The simplest way I would suggest trying to cover some of this data is to take it to a computer repair shop and have them try to read it and let them know what the important data on it is. You could try to access it yourself by either connecting it to a friend's machine or, if you're a bit more savvy, to boot up using a Linux LiveCD and read the disk that way.
In any case, with most SCSI drives being over 10 years old in some instances, I would expect that your drive has just failed.

S.m.a.r.t. says my hard drive is bad and needs repair

IF you can still boot, backup as much data as you can.
If you cant boot from it, you need to replace the hard drive, you can then either connect the damaged HD as a second drive and save your data, or fit it in an enclosure or docking station.
Once you have saved your data, you can reformat the drive, run scandisc to attempt a repair it, you may then be able to use it as a spare/second drive.
I have had a few drives fail as system/bootable drives, but have been perfectly ok to use as a second data disc

After f2 boot no hard drive

You might get lucky if you detach and reattach the hard drive, but your odds of that working are about 1%. The 99% likelihood is that your hard drive is dead and needs replacement.

ASUS A7N8X-X RESET SWITCH

Hi roatan. That helps. So as I mentioned in your other post. Hook up the Maxtor. Since it's a single drive in a newer case the hard drive should not have a jumper on it. Before the system asked for a boot disk. The reason you got that message is because either the boot.ini is corrupted or Windows XP start-up files are corrupted. (A virus/worm could also messed up things).
If you can not get your drive into another PC to back up your data to either a CD/DVD drive than you have no choice but to re-install windows.
Re-installing windows will over write the old windows & replace other folders. Some personal data will be erased. If this is what you want than continue! If you want to save all personal data than you will need to buy another drive. Install the new drive & setup windows complete. When your all done. connect the Maxtor drive. Check the white sticker in the Maxtor drive & change the jumper so the Maxtor is set to a slave drive.
Now you can copy all your personal data to your new drive.
Thats it. Continue to use the Maxtor drive a back up.
Once done copying your data to the new primary drive you can use windows to format the Maxtor & continue using it as a back-up drive.
Here is a very good drive for the money & it comes with a five year warranty.
