A spring is also detached and is loosely on the shift rod, shifter also seems loose.. It also seems to have a pulsating bog like it also does when it is full throttle.

If it doesn't go, than it doesn't need brakes or a shifter. First concentrate on the running and/or power of the machine. Pulsating or bog sounds like it falters under load. And that sounds like lack of fuel. Or an air leak. Unmetered air entering the system that makes it too lean of mixture. Physical inspection to make sure all is where it's supposed to be and in good shape. Then take float bowl off and inspect for foreign matter. Water, rust old varnished fuel, etc. ... More probable is a passage is plugged/clogged. Typical carb replacement can run $100.00 and more just for the carb plus labor. Since it doesn't work correctly now, you can't hardly make it worse. Patience and watch closely how it comes apart. CLEAN CLEAN CLEAN Spray carb cleaner thru every presumed orifice till flow is achieved. This may take more than one attempt. Air compressor and blow gun is all but a must. P.S. Be very careful of your eyes. Carb cleaner in the eye is more painful than you'ld think.

1998 Kawasaki VN 1500 Vulcan Classic transmission shifts hard in first gear

Hi, Catalin and the usual suspects are:
1. Clutch not adjusted properly.
2. Primary chaincase overfilled with lubricant.
3. Corners wore off shifter clutch dogs.
4. Shifter return spring bent or broken.
5. Bent shifter rod.
6. A loose shift lever on shifter shaft.
7. Shifter forks sprung.
8. Shifter pawl needs adjusting.
9. Heel/toe shifter coming in contact with the floorboard.
10. Transmission oil too heavy.

94 Accord Ex 2.2l Vtec will not engage passing gear

Sounds like it could be a problem something to do with the clutch perhaps? If the clutch or other components of the tranny are malfunctioning then it could very well be the source of quite a few elusive problems, and unfortunately the transmission on Honda's are known for hard-shifting, so i would have the transmission diagnosed just to see if everything checks out A-OK. Let me know how it goes!

Grinding when in reverse and tries bogging down at lights

stop shifting so hard. your reverse gear is the same exact gear as your first, so if you shift hard and grind that gear a little then reverse will be harder to get into. you probably need your transmission rebuilt the harder your engine has to work the more its going to bogg down

Honda V1100 Jumps out of gear on full throttle acceleration

More likely it is a slightly bent shift fork not fully engaging into second. The clutch and bearings are not suspect. Remove your foot from the shift lever then go full throttle in 2nd. Those new riding boots may be doing the magic unconsciously. Adjust the shift lever height if that is the problem.
