SOURCE: hotpoint tdc 32 not heating up , replaced the two

Sounds like your problem may be with the heating coil.
Remove the back of the machine and try to locate the air duct going from the blower to the drum. Normally inside the air duct you will find the heating coil and the thermostats/thermistor.
Once you have located the heating coil, remove the two wires from it and check the coil with an ohm meter across the two terminals of the coil.
You should read continuity across the terminals, if not you will need to replace the coil as it is faulty.
If the heating coil is ok, then:
You can check the thermostat/thermistor by removing the two wires and taping them together with electrical tape.
If the coil heats up then replace the thermostat/thermistor.
DO NOT LEAVE THE WIRES TAPED TOGETHER AFTER THE TEST. This could cause a fire, as you have removed the safety of overheat from the machine.
I will include these two websites for parts and further help:
Both also have chat assistance 24/7.
Good Luck,
Hope this helps

If you are having problems with your gas dryer not heating the most common problem is that the ignitor goes bad. Even though it glows sometimes it is still not working properly.

if you dryer is gas check out this gas no heat tip....

If you have an electric dryer, you can have many different things that can go wrong causing the dryer not to heat.

My Hotpoint Aquarius VTD60 tumble dryer works ok but does not heat up. How can I test the heating element or thermostats.

you can use a multimeter to check both. case usually must be removed. for the heating coils, make sure the unit is unplugged !!!, change the meter to ohms, then touch the meter's leads to each end of each coil. should be around 3-10 ohms depending on the power rating. to test the thermostats, unhook all dryer leads to the thermostat and connect and secure the meter's leads to the thermostats leads while still in ohms; should be just two leads on each thermostat. if it has more, it could be a preheated type; you'll need the part number off the thermostat to get the pin functions. should be close to zero while cool, and open (or infinite ohms) when you heat it up (use a lighter). this is a crude test to check the thermostat's basic operation, not how accurate they are. Most dryers have two thermostats; one for low, and one for high, and are mounted in or on the air duct behind the lint trap. good luck.

My hotpoint dryer doesn't heat up, it runs but the air is not warm to dry anything. Can you tell what is the problem?

dismantle the top and front covers, then test the heating element, high limit thermostat on the element housing, then, check the cycling and thermal fuse on the blower wheel housing for continuity

Mechanical thermostats such as the one in your heater are only accurate between 3-5 degrees once set. Unlike a digital thermostat that is accurate to .1 degrees. You can purchase an aftermarket thermostat for $120 that is digital and can be installed in your heater.

My CDT40 is not heating when used and when I press the option lights, they flash once then go off

Check the bias thermostat on the blower wheel housing, thermal fuse, high limit thermostat, and heating element on the back of the machine for continuity with a multimeter. Replace any of the mentioned parts with new one form the parts list below. Below is a video to show you how to check for continuity. The dryer is a little different, but the principles are the same.

My hotpoint ctd 40 wont heat up

Things that could stop a electric dryer from heating:
- house fuse or breaker ( needs two of them ), heating element, burnt wire, thermostat(s), thermal fuse ( not all models ), motor heat switch, timer, selector switch, burnt power cord/plug.
A ohm meter test for these parts is here.

Hotpoint DLB 1550 clothes dryer belt replacement

I don't know of any sites with pictures but, remember just average people assemble these so it's not as hard as it seems. The electrical connectors are one way fit so you don't have to worry about mixing them up. If your worried though use tape to lable where they go. The drum rides on the front of the dryer so when you remove the front the drum will drop down. Remove the old belt and then slide the new belt back to where the old belt rode on the drum. Make sure there are no twists in the belt. Loop the belt on the motor pulley and the loop it over the tensioning wheel. Make sure the tension wheel puts plenty of tension on the belt. Have someone help you hold the drum in place while you put the front on.Before you close the top turn the drum by hand to make sure it turns smoothly. Then close it up and run it empty and listen for squeaks and scraping sounds. Good luck and if you have more questions ask. I can help you through if you need help. Please rate me so I know if I'm helping. Thanks

Dishwasher element and thermostat

Check with multi-meter for power on heating element's tags. If it does get power, you should replace the heating element. In case of no power- you should replace the thermostat. Good luck !
