TV making clicking sounds

Hello. I have a 36 in Sanyo tv. A few mths ago it started making a clicking sound coming from the back of the tv. Then recently sparks started in back of tv. Now tv has a blank screen. I was wondering what it could be and wether it would be worth fixing or not.

My tv won't come on

the picture tube did not go
this could have been the flyback transformer and or some components, but the tv will need to be tested to determine what has cause the tv not to come on

All the reports are showing the same problem the TV is in shutdown mode.

Something is wrong and it is refusing to start it makes a chirping or clicking sound. Solution is that it needs to be repaired nothing you can do unless you want to try replacing the motherboard yourself.

Snap, crackle sound from Sanyo TV

It sounds to me as if possibly ya Main IC Amp Chip & OR the Output Capacitors are failing... Sometimes it is a sign of a power supply on it's way out... Either way it's time for a repair shop quote. Either that or it may be the speakers crossovers... to check this, if you can, try another set of speaker... see if problem is still there. If it IS, then it IS most probably as I said above.. If NOT then it may be one or both of the "Crossover Network" in each speaker...

No picture or sound

It sounds more like a shut down circuit problem if you can feel static from the face of the picture tube after it tries to start up. There are several things that can trigger a shut down condition on TV's. For instance, if there is no vertical deflection signal present, the set may shutdown to prevent a permanent line being burnt across the front of the tube. If the power supply wasn't regulating the B+ voltage properly, it would shutdown to prevent damage in the horizontal sweep section. Or if the horizontal deflection circuit was defective and allowing the high voltage to climb too high (say above 33,000 volts) then the sensing circuit would trigger a shutdown event. If any of the above sounds like gibberish to you then you will need to take the set to a professional for repair.

No picture,no sound,blank

This set is very popular for the capacitors to dry upa and go bad in the main SMPS as well as the switching power supply. If you have no know how on how to test capacitors or solid state electronics please take the set into a repair shop for an estimate
