I have a simular steamer made by a different company. it used to work when i had first gotten it, but i think one time that i had plugged it in for a long period of time without using it has caused the plastic parts under the trigger that releases the steam flow to melt. so now the steamer that i have still heats up really hot but when i try to push the button it does nothing, no steam will come out of it at all... so i think my mistake was plugging it in without using it for too long, making it now inoperable basically garbage. sorry to say

My simple shark steam only cleaner will not steam although the water gets hot

Hi, it's Jeremy from Crucial Vacuum.

There are a few potential solutions you should try. One problem might be that the hole the steam comes out of is clogged. To remedy this, take a Q-tip and insert it into the steam hole. Be sure to use a pair of pliers to insert the Q-tip just incase steam does come out. You do not want to get burned to the ensuing steam. If clearing the steam hole does not work try creating a solution of water and vinegar to flush through your steam mop. The vinegar should be able to break-down any substances preventing your mop from building steam.

Attached is a video showing you how to try each of these solutions:

I just bought a hoover steam vac model F5914900 and the clean water tank is leaking. I tried pressing the clean surge button and the trigger button that was suggested by someone else but it won't

Go to Hoover.com and find a local Service Station. They will replace it at no charge. MUST be a warranty location to get it free. Take your sales slip with you.

My iron has water but it will not produce steam

Could be clogged with lime scale. Try soaking unplugged iron (just the bottom part, the part with the holes that gets hot) in lime-a-way or a vinegar/water solution over night. Also dump water out and replace with lime-a-way or vinegar and let stand over night. Rinse out and use only distilled water for steam.

Steam doesn't come out anymore when I pull the trigger. I think the water in the tank is getting hot, but when I pull the trigger, only a little water comes out. No steam

Try putting some white vinegar in the tank to dissolve any hard water deposits. You should use only distilled water in this machine. Don't try to clean anything with the vinegar in it, but take it outside to run the vinegar through.

Have a polti vaporetto 2400 been used 3 times approx but out of warranty heats up ok but wont release steam when trigger pressed.have tried flushing water in tank with no results

these machines like to be used regularly. if allowed to sit (especially after using tap water) they may buld up lime deposits on valves and cause them to stick. you could try filling with vinegar and let set, also tilt it so vinegar runs into valve area. you could heat the vinegar and it will run through the trigger valve area. if this doesn't work you'll need to replace trigger valve.

No steam release

I solved the problem, the metal (hot!) release rod gets stuck & needs a little push.
Unfasten the top by prying off the rubber gasket after removing the top. Remove the 2 small phillips screws, then remove the front that holds the nozzle, & remove those 2 phillips screws.
Carefully pry up the top with a putty knife, inside you will see the tip of a metal piston that the plastic release knob is supposed to contact. Set it on its front, & soak the piston with a light household or sewing oil, giving it a few taps with a blunt object occassionaly to loosen, heat up & test before reassembling, but remember, the piston is very hot. When you push on the piston with a screwdriver, it should release the steam, but also stop when you let go. Work with it a little & it will come back to life.
