Question about Dell Latitude D610 Laptop Computer - Intel Pentium M 750 1.86GHz, 802.11b/g Wireless, 1G PC Notebook

1 Answer

Curser runs off screen and won't come back.

Works fine fior months and then the curser starts to run off screen. After a minute of frustrating tapping of the pad it will come back. Sometimes it stays back, more times than not it will do this for a while.
I can reboot, etc. and it won't stop. I will give up and later everything is fine. HELP !!

This could be cause by a bad touch-pad sensor. if it crawls off-screen without touching the mouse.

Intermittantly the curser freezes then erratically moves around the screen by itself. I am unable to move or 'control' the curser so find it difficult to shut down to do a re-start. I usually have to hold...

Make sure that you are not placing the hand on the touchpad while typing.... This might be due to the drivers issue with the touchpad.. Try to unistall the drivers of touchpad from the device manager.. Then install a fresh copy from the dell website(www.support.acer.com).. If the issue is yet to be fixed please contact Acer to replace the touchpad....

My screen has flipped onto it's side. The start menu now runs up the right hand side of the screen.

Sounds like the taskbar is unlocked. Put your curser on the taskbar and hold dowwn the left click button and pull the curser in an arcing motion to the bottom of the screen. The taskbar should return there.

Once back at the bottom of the screen right click on taskbat and click on Lock the Taskbar in the pop up menu.

Logitech Marble Mouse became erratic then stopped

Nope have to throw it away and buy another. I've had this same problem every 3-4 months: works fine then it disappears from device manager then it works again at random. I end up replacing it after my curser stops moving for minutes at a time. After a few months the replacement does the same thing. My 5th replacement will be Kensington, Logitech apparently sucks

I have a white macintosh g4 laptop that freezes after 15 minutes.

Open System Preferences:
Click on the Lightbulb Icon entitled "Energy Saver"

Adjust the preferences for each of the two options:
Put the computer to sleep when it is inactive for:
1min 15min 1hr 3hrs Never
Put the display to sleep when it is inactive for:
1min 15min 1hr 3hrs Never

Set these for Power Adaptor and Battery separately.

Acer Aspire curser pad not opening programs

Regarding the touchpad (curser pad), there maybe a problem with your touch pad driver not working or starting up. Check in "msconfig" (you can click on start and run, then type msconfig to bring it up) and click on the startup tab to check which of the startup items are not working.

Also regarding the card reader, i believe the drivers are not installed. Check in Device Manager (click on start /control panel /system icon /device manager) and see what is listed under "other devices"

Keyboard curser bounces around

Are you bumping the touch pad while you type? This may be causing the curser to move around. This laptop is known for its sensitive touch pad.
