I have an HP 2200d printer hooked up to a USB/Parallel printer interface. I can only print "1" copy. How can I resolve this issue? Thank You, Larry

  • Anonymous May 11, 2010

    Larry,

    I checked HP site and saw one suggestion that Mopier mode needs to be disabled on the Properties/Preferences. Try that and then Comment back.

How to install my tvs msp 345 champion printer?

This is a dot matrix printer made by TVS Electronics of India. It used the older parallel port interface (and had an optional serial interface). To hook it up, you'll need a PC with a parallel port, a parallel port cable and drivers. Most PC's no longer have parallel ports, so you'd need to add a parallel port card or use a USB to parallel port adapter. Epson lx-300 parallel to usb printing problem

Make sure driver for Parallel to USB adapter is installed properly, this doesn't guarantee that it will work. Suggestion is, check for interface availability for Epson printer if you can change parallel interface at the back of it to USB interface. Call Epson for details and availability.

I've installed the AL-1540CS but I'm having trouble figuring out how to scan documents and load them onto the computer with the Parallel interface. Can you help me out?

Scanning is not possible thru the parallel port. You must use the USB1.1 port in order to use the scanning feature.
The parallel port is only used for printing.
If you hook up the machine with a USB cable you can print and scan using USB. This includes color scanning.
Thank You for using Fixya.

My printer shows ''User intervension required'' other than ''Ready''

The issue may be resolved by clearing the pause printing in the printer driver or by setting up a parallel connection with the computer. Clear pause printing
  1. From the Windows Desktop, select Start , Settings , and Printers .
  2. Right-click the HP LaserJet printer icon that is being used.
  3. Select the Work Offline or Pause Printing option (if enabled) to remove the check.
  4. Print the document again.
Establish parallel connection
  1. Turn off the printer or remove the printer from the network.
  2. Connect the printer to the PC using a parallel cable.
  3. Power on the printer.
  4. Print the document again. NOTE: If the User Intervention Required message reappears, disable or remove any HP LaserJet software utilities loaded on the system (for example, Status Window, HP Toolbox, etc.). Prove printer functionality and troubleshoot communications; try printing again.
Uninstall and reinstall the driver After performing a cold reset on a product installed with USB, a higher DOT4_00x port is created, causing the printer to hang while printing. NOTE: This is required with products installed on a USB port only.
  1. Uninstall the USB printer driver.
  2. Remove the HP folder and AIO folder from the hard drive.
  3. Reinstall the USB printer driver.
CAUSE: This error can occur if when using a network or printing from a laptop. When the print job goes into a pending status, the printer is either in Work Offline or Pause Printing mode. Hope this helps. Please rate my response.
Thanks.
Have a good day.

HP LaserJet II p Plus will not print. note spam website posted by john brown below

Hi,

I am assuming that you are using Vista. Based on your post/description:
1. the HP Compaq 6710b has no parallel port;
2. the HP LaserJet IIP Plus is only capable of either serial or parallel connection;
3. hence you're attempting a USB to Parallel interface;
4. the printer is installed in your notebook and is set to USB port;
5. from the printer a test print can be performed but not from the Printer Properties in your notebook;
6. all printing jobs initiated from the notebook results in an "Error".

With the above in mind, may I point/suggest that:
a. Windows Vista driver will only enable your HP LaserJet IIP Plus' basic functions to work. It is not 100% compatible;
b. alternately, you can try using the XP installation CD/drivers of the printer;
c. the compatibility issue may be compounded by the USB to parallel interface;
d. the USB to parallel interface may be hampered by a known Vista USB issue;
e. you can try patching/updating the Vista USB driver. Since this has been a recognized issue with Vista, Microsoft has posted a fix for this here or here.
f. verify that the printer does not display a 22 or 40 Error.

If the printing concern has not been rectified after completion of the above procedures, you may need to:
i. download and install HP Universal PostScript Print Driver; or
ii. consider using a wireless print server connected to the parallel port of the printer; or
iii.consider replacing your printer. Sorry.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Thank you for using FixYa.

Initialization failed - Unable to acquire TWAIN-compliant device

Hello,

I have seen your message stating that "Initialization failed - Unable to acquire TWAIN-compliant device" error is received when trying to connect USB-Parallel type to your Laptop.

Well,  Printer  Panasonic UF4100, recommends to use only " Printer/Scanner Interface as Bi-directional Parallel (IEEE1284) " means you need to use Parallel cable to connect Printer to the Computer/Notebook.  You may receive some communication error messages if you are using a  "PORT REPLICATOR CABLE"( USB TO PARALLEL connector).  The error message that you have received is related to the communication error. Futher, if you use same USB- Parallel cable for long time the Printer Hardware functionality might go bad, since Printer memory gets confused and will not read or detect the Cable , since it is not a cable to use  mentioned by Panasonic Manufacturer.

Let me tell you, general functionality of Printer like Printing would work even if you use USB-Parallel cable. But it is not a case with Scanner and Fax functionality.

Hence, I recommend you to use only Parallel cable to connect your Printer to the Laptops.

I hope that this will resolve the issue for you.

You can email me at [email protected] if you need further assistance.

Bye.
