Question about Seagate Technology Seagate Central 4TB
Seagate Central is not getting power. Received waiver for warranty to attempt to retrieve data (data recovery wants $1k-3K). It has been suggested that I can remove the hard drive and install it in a computer. I have gotten as far as opening the system cover, but do not know how (or what) to install in a computer. Do I take the hard drive out of the metal casing and put it into the one in the computer?
Easier way if computer has USB ports, just use a USB convertor for IDE and Sata, (search for usb hard drive convertor) ( $10 or So) and you will be able to copy your files to the computer and to save to another hard drive or CD or DVD.
