It sounds like you have a faulty screen, if under warranty contact support for warranty, otherwise take to a local tech to see if the problem can be rectified.

Unlock bios password on msi u100

If the boot sequence is wrong, then how can you even try and log into XP, what you're saying makes no sense.

You said, (every time I attempt to log in It prompts me to activate xp)

So it's booting to the hard drive, why would you need to change it ??????????????????

Removing the CMOS battery might and I mean might reset BIOS password, but that has nothing to do with XP and activation.

You can't upgrade until you get XP activated.

So you might as well install XP pro.

Do a search on google for a XP crack if you can afford to buy it.

I won't post how to crack it.

My computer i completely wiped off i need to put window xp back on it. how can i do that ?

Before you start, you must have your Windows XP installation CD and the product key available.

  1. Start your computer from the Windows XP CD (or boot disks). To do this, insert the Windows XP CD into your CD or DVD drive, and then restart your computer.
  2. When the "Press any key to boot from CD" message appears on the screen, press any key to start the computer from the Windows XP CD.
  3. At the Welcome to Setup screen, press ENTER to begin Windows XP Setup

Unable to install XP OS to MSI lap top

insert a bootable xp cd into the cd drive and hit enter ll ask to hit any key to continue from cd...hit any screen and follow the onscreen instructions...

if it doesnt works, try this....
u can log in to the setup by pressing del key or F2(depends upon make and model) and change the drive booting order...change the first booting device as CD/DVD and second booting device to HDD...
now it ll prompt you to hit any key to start from CD/DVD....
Make sure you have inserted a bootable XP CD in CD drive....Bootable XP CD's can be created only from another bootable XP cd by taking an image from that cd and writing it back to the can use NERO Copy disc option for this ll create an iso image and you can use only this to write into the disc...

We are having problems with the webcam on our msi wind mini laptop. it seems to only connect to only a couple and not all

Have you tried pressing Fn and F6 at the same time? Pressing those two keys on the keyboard at the same time turns on the Webcam.

If you have done that, I would install the drivers for the webcam. Now I am assuming you are running Windows XP, and if so, visit this website:

Download the Webcam drivers about one-third of the way down the screen.

If after install and restart doesn't fix it, contact me and I can help further.

Also, definitely go here and follow screens for a full update from MSI. Do this either way:

It fixes quite a bit of issues.

Goog Luck!

Msi u100 boot failure

Try make sure that there are no disc loaded on any of the media drives. If you can still get to the BIOS set it to boot on your hard drive. If not most likely it's a problem with the OS. If you have a Win XP system installed in it you can run the installation CD and try to repair it.
