SOURCE: LCD Error message: Paper output slot. Thye paper is jammed. clear the paper and press OK.

A jam sensor may be stuck or have something stuck on it, causing the machine to think it is jammed. These sensors are normally located where the paper feeds into the printer, and where the paper exits the printer. Try forcing a sheet of paper through the machine in the direction paper normally. feeds. This may free up the jam sensors.

SOURCE: Paper Jam

I have just had the same problem on one of these Canon MF4150 machines.
The manufactures warranty on our machine had expired just one week before this happened so I had to fix this myself.
The problem we had (which is very likely to be the same cause as yours) is when we removed some torn jammed paper, it had somehow pulled off a spring from inside the machine. The spring was linked to the paper jam sensor.
It does involve a LOT of work to fix it, and unless you are very 'techy' it may be quite a difficult task to do this for the 'average' person.
I had to completely disassemble the machine: Take off the front first (lift up the cover and there is 2 screws at the front and 2 clips on the bottom of the machine) Then remove the 2sides and finally the top (screws should be easy to see, to get the sides off, un-clip along the front edges and gently move them outwards and slide them backwards to release the clips on the back) being careful with the wires going to the scanner part). Then look for the fuser unit which is near the top at the back, there is a black rounded cover over the fuser. To remove the cover, look for 2 small clips one at each side and unclip the cover and gently lift upwards.  Under the cover on the left side you will see a small plastic rod which goes from the left side to a small tab in the middle, if you look about half way along that rod you should see a tiny spring, make sure this is clipped on properly and that you are able to rotate the rod and it should spring back to the proper position when you let go.
Once this is done, put it all back together again and it should work fine.

I'm sure a lot of other people probably have this same problem too so I hope this helps someone.

SOURCE: Canon PIXMA MP160 showing paper jam, but none

hi
just recently had these problems
symptoms:
LED flashing E3 code and alarm light was solid. But dissapeared when opened the coved and came back on when closed the cover.
Also the when the cover was open the inks did not slide out to the left and stayed to the right side.
There was no paper jam, but error said paper jam.

Solution:
1. I took a thick piece of paper, from like a paper folder ones, thick enough to go in the printer and not curl up when pushed..
2. turned off the printer and turned it back on.
3, while printer was turning on,and makings sound as it does normally when turning on, I pushed through the piece of paper and the rotors stoped for a millisecond.
4.the rotors started again and pushed out the paper by it self with out my force.
5. I let the printer get started. and then turned it off and then on.
6. this solved all of my problems.
this was the first problem ever with this printer in 3 years.,preety good printer.

good luck...

SOURCE: Canon MP140 paper jam error with no paper jam

try this

  1. Turn off the printer.
  2. Remove any paper trays. Inspect them for wrinkled or damaged paper.
  3. Also open the back cover of the printer if this model has one.
  4. Open any other doors that give access to the printer's paper path and to the toner or ink cartridge.
  5. If necessary, remove the toner or ink cartridge. Place it away from light/ sun light to avoid damaging it.
  6. If you find a piece of jammed paper, remove it by holding it with both hands and pulling firmly. The goal is to keep the paper from tearing. If several pieces are jammed together, try pulling out the middle piece first to loosen the jam.
  7. If the paper does tear, try rotating the roller gears manually to free the paper. Don't force anything, though. Do this step especially if the jam message comes up repeatedly without any obvious paper jam, there may be a small tear of paper inside.
  8. Ones the printer is free of paper Replace the toner or ink cartridge and paper trays, close any doors you opened and turn the printer back on.
  9. If the printer paper jam message still appears, then there is still some paper in the printer. Reinspect the paper path.
  10. see alternative if the problem is still not solved.

alternative :
Load a piece of thick paper, for example photo paper and press the resume button (may be diffrent button on diffrent models) a few times to the printer picks up the paper and puts it through the machine.

Remove paper jam

you MUST get the tiny paper out of the machine. It will make more jams for sure. If you do not have a manual or someone handy try looking up your printer model on the web for jam clearing advice at the location where the paper ripped. Usually there are numbers. Sorry!

Error paper jam

It is possible that there is a little peice of paper that has ripped off of the sheet that was jammed. Was the sheet whole when you removed it? If not, check the location where the paper was jammed for bits of the last sheet of paper.

Left side paper jam and the paper has been removed, but it still says paper jam. What should we do?

Use a flashlight and inspect as much of the paper path as you can see. You are likely to find a torn piece or even just a fragment left over from a previous jam. You may need to use tweezers for fragment removal and aoolication of compressed dusting air may help.

Paper jam

  • Discover the location of the jam. Carefully open the cover of the copy machine and the paper tray to see exactly where the paper is jammed.
  • 2Turn off the copy machine before pulling out the paper.
  • 3Pull the page out, the opposite way it is fed into the copier. Pull the jammed sheet out gently. If you tug too hard, the paper may rip.
  • 4Check for any paper fragments and clean up any torn pieces.
  • 5Check the roller where the jam occurred to be sure none of the copier parts are loose or broken. The roller should be smooth all the way across with no possible snags.
  • 6Replace the cover and paper tray and turn the machine back on.
  • 7Press the button to cancel the paper jam message. This button will vary among copy machines. The display will tell you which button to push

see the diagram for copiers and let`s the way of paper for troubleshooting .

Welll its not a canon but ew are in dire need. Our 16 month old OKI b4600 wont print.Error message says clear paper jam. cant find a jam swapped tray, cartridge/drum etc. No luck. Any suggested

Hi There and Welcome to Fixya,

Usually, paper jams can occur at the input location right at the bottom of the printer - always remember that even a tiny piece of paper can cause halt in printing, hence, the error message.

Here's what I'm suggesting for you to do :
    • Start with pulling out the tray from the printer and look for ANY crumpled/pieces/fragments of paper that could be tucked in.
    • At the bottom of the printer is the feed area - do the same thing and remove any pieces of paper.
    • Ensure that it's absolutely "paper fragment free" before returning the tray back at the printer.
    • Next, is to open the top cover and carefully remove the drum.
    • Remove any pieces or fragments of paper that you find.
    • Carefully slide back the drum, ensure that everything snaps into place.
    • Close the top cover.
    • Restart your printer.
I most certainly hope this helps.

    Thank you for using FixYa.

Error code 3528 keeps coming up,telling me to remove back cover and remove paper jam then replace back cover.there is no paper jam, checked printer heads no paper anywhere? and paper is not low????

Check the complete paper path very carefully, it only takes a small fragment of paper stuck somewhere to signal a paper jam. Also check that the paper sensors have returned to their normal positions. See that the printer has not picked up a second sheet of paper and this is somewhere in the path.

I have a paper jam with a samsung CLX 3175FN. Can't get the stuck paper out! Turning on and off didn't work.

If the paper is jammed inside the machine follow these steps:
    1. Open the front cover and pull the toner cartridge out, lightly pushing it down.
    2. Remove the jammed paper by gently pulling it straight out.
    3. After removing the jammed paper, make sure there is no additional paper in the paper path.
    4. Insert the toner cartridge and close the front cover.

If the paper is jammed in exit are follow these steps:
    1. Open and close the front cover. The jammed paper is automatically ejected from the machine.
    2. Gently pull the paper out of the output tray.
    - If you do not see the jammed paper or if there is any resistance when you pull, stop and go to the next step.
    3. Open the rear cover.
    4. Carefully remove the paper by pulling in the direction.
    - If the paper tears, make sure that all of the paper fragments are removed from the printer.
    5. Close the rear cover. Printing automatically resumes.

The paper seems to have got jammed up and after I did try to get it out it still seems to say paper jam

Often times after forcing a piece of jammed paper to come out, it can begin to tear and rip. It's possible that a small fragment of paper is still inside the printer, and most likely blocking a jam sensor along the paper path. My recommendation is to take a piece of heavier card stock paper and manually feed it through the machine, attempting to clear out any debris that may have become lodged inside the paper path.

Paper jam. caused error print unable 30

"Machine Error 30" (or "Unable to Print") indicates either a simple problem such as a paper or part of a paper stuck inside the machine, which of course is solved by opening the machine as much as possible and remove the reason for the jam.
Even a ripped part of a paper will be able to cause the paper, so it's important to be careful when taking jammed paper out to not rip the paper (do this by carefully pulling the paper among the same way as it would go when printing, not the opposite direction).

However, if that doesn't work, the error is mechanical (but still most likely caused by the jam, either a sensor getting dirty and unable to do it's work, or actually getting broken), and there isn't much you can do. If the message comes back right after turning on the machine, you'll have to have service performed on the machine.
