To change the cd drive in a laptop, you need to take apart the body of it, usually the screws to do so are under the laptop, and usually you may have to unclip the keyboard from the body to take the body apart aswell, then inside the laptop the cd drive would be held in by a screw and make sure to unplug it from the computer.
When doing this make sure to take out the battrey.

When you copy a windows CD onto a thumb drive there are hidden files that won't copy. You can't un hide those files since you cannot change the attributes on a CD file. You're going to have to install from a CD

Cd drive xhnge

On the front of the CD rom there is a small pin-size hole, carefully put a drawing pin into the hole and it will open the CD drive manually, if it doesn't read disks anymore consider replacing your CD drive

My MSI GT660 Dvd will not open or eject

There are two ways to open the CD/DVD drive door if the button just below the drive tray does not work.
Go to My Computer and right click on the drive and click on Eject.
If this does not work then you can manually open the CD/DVD drive tray by -
Straighten a paper clip and gently insert it into a tiny hole below the drive tray next to the Eject button. Push the paper clip gently until the drive tray pops out, then pull the tray until it is fully out, then you can remove the CD disc.
If you still having problem opening with the Eject button, then the CD/DVD drive is faulty and needs replacing.

Unable to install XP OS to MSI lap top

insert a bootable xp cd into the cd drive and hit enter continuosly...it ll ask to hit any key to continue from cd...hit any screen and follow the onscreen instructions...

if it doesnt works, try this....
u can log in to the setup by pressing del key or F2(depends upon make and model) and change the drive booting order...change the first booting device as CD/DVD and second booting device to HDD...
now it ll prompt you to hit any key to start from CD/DVD....
Make sure you have inserted a bootable XP CD in CD drive....Bootable XP CD's can be created only from another bootable XP cd by taking an image from that cd and writing it back to the cd...you can use NERO Copy disc option for this purpose...it ll create an iso image and you can use only this to write into the disc...

I need to get rid of TrayApp installer. How can you help me??

Insert the printer CD to the PC, close the window that opens automatically.
Open My computer icon, locate the CD\DVD drive and then right click and then select Explore, that would show CD contents, Open Setup folder, in the setup folder open Folder named Trayapp, in that folder you have a file named Trayapp.msi, right click on that trayapp.msi and then select the option repair, restart the PC and then check for the error, any clarifications please comment.....

CD tray doesn't open

ok there is a small hole below the tray, use a small paper clip
wire to push in that whole, push and the tray should come out.

if that doesnt work take cd player out, push plastic clips on side
and top at front , front plate should come off .

where small whole was in front look behind plate you will see a small little metal arm push on that

should be able to clear cd player then .
