I realy dont think that you will find a new motor for a old kenmore, you may be able to find one on craigslist/ebay. How do you know it is the motor? Could just need new brushes or a new foot control. I have never had a bad motor on a old kenmore. replaced brushes and many foot cotrols.
Not that it could not happen but it would be rare.
hope this helps
Those books are long since out of print. Try contacting sewing machine stores who stock old instruction books. Many shops do this. Or try eBay. http://shop.ebay.com/i.html?_nkw=instruction+book+kenmore+sewing&_sacat=0&_trksid=p3286.m270.l1313&_odkw=instruction+book+sears+kenmore+sewing&_osacat=0
By 'The wheel the belt is on' you mean the motor pully? If that is so obviously some oil has some how made way on the pully and the belt. Try to remove the belt and clean both wheels and the belt free of oil. This shd slove the problem.
If it doest then please send a photo of the arrangement showing pully and belt. U didnt mention if the machine is old or new. Did u oil it recently before trouble developed?
