Question about Konica Minolta bizhub C450P Laser Printer

1 Answer

C252 streaks My bizhub c252 has 3 color streaks going down it... (Yellow cyan and magenta) on the first print but then it does not on the second print... and that's printed in BLACK AND WHITE mode... WHen trying to print color prints from website the images are all dark and not visible and the text is fine in black... Any suggestions? Also when printing there is a very subtle black streak which appears to be from previous print but not so concerned about that... how do I clean machine so prints correctly? Factory reset or clean? and if clean, how and what do I clean and can this be done correctly without disassembly? Very good with taking things apart and good with computers but just not an expert when it comes to printers so any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks

with the colour streaking it could be the imaging units not being cleaned correctly by the cleaning blade inside, could also be a discharge problems with the IU's, try cleaning the IU's using the cleaning rods. i would inspec the drum roller and see if you can see any banding on the drum surface as this would result in colur banding on print outs

there is some banding on the film where small (2mm or so) isn't "glossy" and the transfer roller seems to collect discharge as well and a good amount at that... Not sure if worth mentioning but the upper fuser roller in the past has had tiny reminents of previously printed text on it (Always been Black ink) but have always been able to fix that with a quick wipe). Given all of this, what would you suggest I do? I very much appreciate the quick response.

Check your consumables. Press utility then check consumables. If anything is at the end of life, it needs replaced. It sounds like your drums are not cleaning properly and need to be changed. If they are fairly new, then I would suspect the transfer belt. If you know hoe to get into service mode you can go into test mode. Then run your halftones on each color. If it moves around, its your drums. If it stays in one spot, its your transfer belt. Also you could check your drum units. If they have streaks going across the green drum, like its dirty, then its coming from the drums.

SOURCE: Streaks & Smears after changing toner cartridge.

Remove all of your toners and clean them off. Replace each one and make sure they are well setted in the unit before going to the next one. Make sure the carosel turns smoothly and nothing is hanging up on the sides. Reboot the whole printer and let it settle for 5 mins before printing. toners come lose sometimes when you turn carosel around. Hope this helps you these printers are a ***** to deal with ,but when they are right there great.

Xerox 8500 phaser prints brown tint

Most likely the cyan ink is burnt. If the ink sticks are left unused (printing more black than color, this will happen.

Print the test pages for PQ troubleshooting from the control panel and examine each print. Cyan will probably have very dark streaks down the page, magenta should look normal, and yellow also will have dark stripes. You need to replace this burnt ink, and the only way is to print. From within paint (or similar accessory in other OS) Create a full page of cyan, and print about 100 - 200 pages, or until the cyan starts to clear up. Yes it is a waste, but much cheaper than a print head, Do this for yellow as well.

It is leaving heavy blue streaks on everything printed

Hey, blue streaks could be a few different things. The first thing I would check is the image unit. Try swapping out the cyan(blue) image unit with another color, such as magenta. If the streaks change from cyan(blue) to magenta in color then you know the image unit is bad and must be replaced (part # 108R00581). If it is not the image unit then it most likely is the developer. The developer takes about 40 minutes to install and really should be done by a service technician.
Here is a video that shows you how to remove the image unit and where you can purchase one.. Just go to 57 seconds in the video. Hope this helps, good luck!

Yellow not printing - but only in streaks

Your yellow problem sounds like a bad yellow developer housing. Take the drum out and look at the developer housing, You will need a flash light to do so. See if the roller is solid yellow. Even if it is there may not be any developer left in the housing.
The Cyan sounds like the drum since it gets worse as it prints.
That can also be caused by the transfer belt cleaner. But that normally is the opposite. It has a rainbow sort of streak and it gets better as the machine runs.

Prints only green predominently

Without knowing what printer you have or what things you have tried I can only guess here. It sounds like you need a new cartridge. A color ink cartridge will have 3 colors of ink for most printers...cyan (blue), magenta (purplish-maroon), and yellow. Depending on what you print it is very possible that you could run out of one of the inks before the others. Printing green can be an indication that you are out of magenta ink. The cyan and yellow inks will combine and look green.

You can remove the cartridge and run a tissue over the printhead and see if you see all 3 colors as a quick test. If you only see cyan and yellow, then the magenta is probably empty or dried up. If you see all 3 colors I would reinsert the cartridge and try printing again. It is possible that the magenta was just clogged and you cleaned it with the tissue. If it still doesn't print all colors your best bet is probably to just get a new ink cartridge.
