Question about Mtd Garden

Open Question

Grillo mower Climber 9.22 front left wheel will not come off. Seems to be stuck on the brake some how.

Initially, I could rotate the wheel now I can not. I have take off the Circ-clip and 3 spaces but the wheel seems to be stuck on something. It is only 6 months old.

SOURCE: rear wheel/rim craftsman 16.5 model#917.271121 rear wheel

this is normal it take ALOT of force. I end up using a large hammer and a solid 2x4 to cusion the rim. Smacking it once good from the outside of the mower too. all this take place the the next morning after spraying in some pb blaster or similar anti seize spray into the axel.. and tilting the mower slightly. Dont use a torch it wont help. It only makes things hot and you will ruin the tranny seals.

I know its frustrating. expect that key way to be part of the problem in there to.

If the wheels aren't facing straight forward you may have broken an axle.

SOURCE: Need to remove rear wheels to replace tires on MTD riding mower.

most likely rust has taken over
find some liquid wrench or pb blaster and spray the axles liberally and let it penetrate the axles and wheel hubs where the axle goes through.
use a 2x4 and a hammer to tap against the wheel hub to try to move it down the axle then tap in back on to try to free it up as the penetrating oil works in, spin the wheel and tap in different areas of it
the worst case cenario would be to use a torch and heat the axle and hub up and drive it off, but it sounds as though you are moving it some and with some patience they eventually should come off
when you put them back be sure to coat the axle with some grease and do not forget to reinstall the key stock in each wheel, if they have it
the bolt in the center of the axle is all you need to remove and note where the washers came from and where they go back.

hope this helps you some

SOURCE: Craftsman riding mower won't move.

yes it is a bad belt unless it is a hydro-stat(no clutch) you need to look under the mower and see if the belt is on correctly

I have a 2000 ford expedition, when i drive it, it makes a grinding sound and bad vibration from front passenger side. It almost seems as if it is not completely out of 4wd.

Most likely you have a bad wheel bearing on the right front tire but at the same time you could have a stuck brake caliper on the front right as well you can tell if it's a bad brake caliper if the vehicle well rolling at about 5 miles an hour and shift it into neutral bad bearing if when you shift the vehicle turning the wheel hard to the right it kind of grinds you could also jack up the front right tire and turn the wheel rotating it to see if it is stiff

Toyota corolla 1.6 gli suqeaks when slow cornering

Jack the car up on the left. Once clear of the ground hold the wheel top and bottom at the 12 o'clock and 6 o'clock and check for play by pulling out at the bottom and pushing in at the top and then the other way around. Any movement indicates a loose or worn wheel bearing. To make doubly sure remove the wheel and again check for play in the disc again in the north to south direction. Spin the disc and listen for complaint from the bearing. Hold the disc East/West (3 o'clock, 9 o'clock) and rock back and forward and check for movement against the track rod (steering end) arm. Tighten the central nut on the hub to the point at which resistance to the ability to rotate the disc is felt. Slacken off the nut just a fraction until to regain freedom of disc rotation. Any noises of complaint from the bearing or points of stiffness when the disc is rotating usually indicates that the bearing should be renewed. Now do the same procedure to the right wheel on the other side and make a mental comparison. It is rare for two wheel bearings to go at the same time and so the comparison will serve to highlight a faulty bearing by being markedly different.

Steering wheel pulls to left when brake is applied

This has to do with the front brake caliper on the left sticking or the front right is not activating. Remove the front wheels and check the caliper for proper movement and pad wear. Try to rotate the front left and note any heavy resistance. Also check all tires for proper pressure.

I have a 1998 ford expedition with 4wd and it pulls to the right. I had the tires rotated and the wheels aligned twice. The problem remains.

You could be having uneven tires; front-brake dragging; broken or sagging springs. Have your front brakes checked.
