I have an AEG Lavamat 74810 washing machine which is 10 years old. On any cycle , the drum does not spin, on pressing the two left hand buttons, you get error code E52.

The E52 code indicates that the motor is not moving. This could mean the the carbon brushes have worn out, the entire motor is bad or that the wiring or control units have damage so that the message to spin is not getting to the motor.

Take off the back of the washer (after unplugging it). Inspect the motor plug and wiring to that plug. If those look okay, take out the motor and inspect the carbon brushes. If those are worn or broken, then you need to replace them. If the brushes are okay, then the entire motor or the control board are more likely to have a fault. See http://shop.aeg.co.uk/search?prpp=20&ppn=1&psfo=A&filter=category%3ALaundry%3AWashing%2BMachines and use the full product number to find out the part numbers you may need. Other sites will have these parts.

I hope this helps. Please add the product number of your AEG Lavamat 74810 if you need assistance finding parts.

AEG Lavamat 60810 E50 7Beeps Does seem to still work but display shows E50 and some time E70 and 7beeps over and over. Many thanks

E50 does mean problem with motor or tachometer placed on the motor. Could be: worn carbon brushes, motor faulty, wiring, electronic faulty.
E70 does mean problem with heating phase.
Could be: NTC sensor faulty or badly positioned, wiring faulty, electronic faulty.

First of all, read exactly alarm code.
Press "Spin/Rinse hold" button and "Prewash" simultaneously for at least 2 seconds: the LED switch off and then display the
sequence of flashes indicating the alarm.
The alarm sequence is displayed for the time in which the buttons are hold down. During the time the alarm is displayed, the appliance continues to perform the cycle or, if it is in the
selection phase, it keeps in memory the options previously chosen.
E70 - Family alarm code
  • E71 - Washing NTC sensor faulty
  • E74 - Washing NTC sensor badly positioned
Causes: NTC sensor badly positioned; NTC sensor faulty; wiring faulty; PCB faulty.

E50 - Family alarm code
  • E51 - Motor power supply triac short-circuited
  • E52 - No signal from motor tachometric generator
  • E53 - Motor triac sensing circuit faulty
  • E54 - Motor relay contacts sticking
Causes: Motor faulty; wiring faulty; PCB faulty; current leakage from motor or from wiring

Aeg 6480

When the motor is switched on, it must reach a speed of 1300 rpm within 10 seconds; if this doesn't occur, A7 alarm condition is generated.

Possible causes:
Motor winding short-circuited, motor winding interrupted, motor jammed, electrical connections broken or false contacts, tachometric sensor broken or short-circuited.

AEG lavamat 86800 drum doesn't spin

see this causes and fix it. God bless you
Belt
The belt may have come off or broke. If you hear the motor running but nothings moving the problem is likely the belt. This is easy to check and replace

Door Switch
This can cause the washer to not agitate or go into the spin cycle. You will need to remove the door switch to check it. You will perform an ohm reading on the bottom terminals. The reading varies from manufacturers most Frigidaires is around 1500 ohms others like the whirlpool duet is checked at the main control board with the door closed should be around zero ohms. You will need to refer to the tech sheet or service manual for the proper reading.

Main Control Module / CCU
The main control unit is the circuit board located behind the console. If the door switch tests good the main control is usually the problem. Check all connections for a goood tight fit. You will need to refer to the tech sheet or service manual to check this further. The main control is easy to replace .

Motor Control Module

The motor Control Module is located inside the cabinet down near the motor. This recieves the signals from the main control module then relays this information to the motor. Check all connections sometimes a communcation problem is just a loose connection. The motor control is easy to replace. To check this further you will need to refer to your tech sheet or service manual.

E90 ERROR ELECTROLUX 1087 WASHING MACHINE

Error 90 is a common fault code in domestics within the Electrolux, Zanussi, AEG range. It's a wiring fault /connection normally between the printed cicuit board and wires. switch off power, remove lid, pull off each connector on board checking for clip holding the connector in place, one at a time, look for arcing marks, rub pins gently with clean cloth, tensinsion up clips in connector(delicately) and refit. having done this, test again with a wet load on spin, then a wash programme. Before dispairing check the motor coonnections.

AEG 530 drum not turning

If the motor is not turning ( the actual motor and not just the agitator, then you either have a bad motor, or possibly just a loose connection or wire.

If you can hear the motor, or see the motor itself run, and just not spin the agitator, you may just need a belt replaced.

Either of these 2 problems are not a terribly hard fix, but it will take someone with good mechanical knowledge. (don't misunderstand that statement, as you may have this and wasn't meant to belittle you)

I repaired units for years some time ago, and these are the 2 problems you may have, however, on some newer units, even the switches and dial controls being bad can cause these issues. At this point, a few electrical tests with a meter would be in order to trace the root of problem.

LAVAMAT MOTOR DOES NOT RUN

If there is water getting into the machine, then the motor, motor control unit, pressure switch, timer control and wiring harness must be tested. If the machine is a top load the motor coupler may replace the MCU of variable speed motors, that must also be tested then.

If cycle is not operating at all, with no water getting through the inlet check lid switch, door latch, inlet hose , inlet valve, membrane switch, Timer board and MCU if present.

Dishwasher keeps cutting out

Has the door got heavier recently?
Mine had a spring break which fell onto the electrics and shorted them. Unplug and empty it, then tip it up to see if you can see a loose spring. If it is then replace or re-fit the old spring, I have posted instructions and pictures here:
