Connec the usb cable to ur pc and then open my computer.
you shall see a removable disk double click that.
then click on the folder called DCIM and you can find all ur pics there.
select whichever you want and drag and drop them to the location you want them on the computer.
issue resolved.........let me know if u have anymore queries.
also you dont need the software installed only the drivers for the usb cable need to be installed

I am trying to transfer from the Handyman VCR to my pc; I've plugged the USB line into both and no response. Thanks

Hello there,
If you have Windows XP, you need this driver, http://esupport.sony.com/US/perl/swu-list.pl?mdl=DCRTRV250&SelectOS=7#div_pos_18 . At first, you transfer only photos from memory card BY USB, if you want transfer video to your PC you need fireware cable, and fireware IN on your PC. If you have all of these, you need software, such as Sony Vegas (they probably gave it to you with camera) or Ulead Video Studio, for transfer.

I have a Coolpix L100, and have installed the Nikon Transfer software. I am using a USB cable (that came with the camera) to connect my PC (Windows XP) to the camera. The Nikon Transfer software does not...

Alright..... I had this same problem and I finally figured it out. If your pictures are saved onto the card, then the USB cord will not detect them. If you want to transfer pics via the USB cable, make sure they are saved to your camera. You can copy photos from your card to camera vice versa under your menu settings.
Also, your card CANNOT be plugged into your camera or it will not see anything. I guess the card confuses the camera. Seems really stupid on Nikon's part.
Your camera only has a limited amount of memory, so if you will be limited on how many photos you can save to your camera.
Do this, and it will work.

Canon PowerShot S51S camera, trying to transfer photos from computer onto the memory card so we can use the card in a digital photo frame? Don't know how to transfer?

you have to use the data cable (which one come with your camera) to store pictures to your XP/Vista PC. Just connect the cable into your camera and PC, your PC detected your camera automatically as an drive, then you can transfer pictures.

Downloading photos

If you are using Windows XP unplug your camera from your PC and uninstall the Kodak software. You don't need it to transfer photos to your PC. The next time you connect your camera (turn the camera on) to your computer it should recognize it and you can use Windows built in transfer software. Videos cannot be transferred to the PC (Windows XP)

Maybe you need a movie playback application that should be installed on your computer that supports the file format of the video from the camera. I believe the video file format from the camera is mpeg. You may try Quicktime player whick also works with Windows.

http://www.apple.com/quicktime/player/

Or you may try VLC Media Player.

Transfer Problem

What did your PC screen say? It is the PC that does the file transfer not the camera. If you use a Window XP OS, a window on the PC screen should pop up and ask you what you want to do. If you don't see that (plug and unplug the USB cable again and/or use your window window explorer (right click on the start icon and choose explore) to look for your camera. I don't have a Finepix S304, may be the camera screen just telling you that it detected a PC hook up to the camera. Good luck, Hope this help.
