Try to reformat it and check .
In windows pc go to view option in my computer /Tools/view option/
enable top show hidden files and see if there are some hidden files which is occupying your space .
backup all you files and format the drive check should be showing the actual size.

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

You have problems.

It is possible to to use a Pen Drive/ Flash drive to load windows XP, but the process is never 100% reliable. You need to have the actual equivalent of the XP system disk, or boot disk, on your pen drive. Even then your system may not recognise the pen drive as a system disk. It works for some but not not for others. If you have your original XP disks, try loading it on the pen drive via another PC. It works best if the pen drive is formatted to NTFS, but may still work on FAT32 format. 2Gb pen is a general good size. Trial and error.

There is reportedly an XP Lite version that is more suited to this, but I am not clear on the details or legalities..

Your only real sensible option is to replace the CDROM. You may wish to upgrade to DVDRAM Drive for a few cents more.

Pen drive problem

Be careful while you purchase the pen drives with a large amount of size especially with the ones having a steel casing around, many of my friends have been the victim of this product as it a fake product and does not give the actual size it stores data of only 2GB in most cases if you are lucky enough for that else it does not function at all.
go for a branded product instead which may be a bit expensive but worth it.
