Make sure you get water to the dishwasher. Check to see if the water shut-off valve (located under the sink) is open. If you get water to the dishwasher, but there is still no water inside during the fill cycle, the problem might be with a faulty water valve (located at the bottom of the dishwasher, behind the kick panel, on either side), in which case replace the water valve.

***If everything checks out ok with the water inlet valve, replace the timer or control board.

In most cases, this will be the direct result of a faulty inlet water valve assembly.

GE dishwasher rinses, but won't fill for wash cycle

It could be a failing water inlet valve or the main control board. If it does it every time you try, it is not the water inlet, it is the Control Board. Unfortunately both parts are obsolete. Time for a new one or search for parts in stock somewhere.

I have a Miele W1918 washer which has worked perfectly for a decade. Now there is not enough water to fill the tub during the first 'rinse' phase of normal cycles or the 'separate rinse' cycle. The machine...

I have exactly the same problem. I am currently getting around the issue by letting the machine do the washing then at the end of that cycle do a manual rinse cycle.

I'm trying to get my GE GSD1200G00WW to work. When it is put on the wash cycle, I can hear the pump running but the tub does not fill with water. I checked the float and it seems fine. Water valve...

Confirm 120V across the water valve terminals in a couple of minutes into a wash or rinse cycle. (when you turn it on at the beginning of the wash cycle it will drain first, and then will energize the water valve to fill up.)
If there is 120V across the terminals - it may have:
  1. faulty solenoid coil - check for continuity, replace valve if none
  2. clogged filter or nozzle inside the valve. Try cleaning the filter, replace valve if it didn't help

Hobart WM-ID dishwasher doesn't heat water enough to clean dishes

The WM-1D does not have any internal heating devices. You have to supply the machine with the proper water temp. It has two fill valves, one for wash and one for rinse. It should have 150F supplied to the wash fill valve and 180F to the rinse fill valve.

Kitchenaide KUDM24SE1 dishwasher will not fill with water

It may be the water inlet valve or the electronic control board. To check, remove the bottom toe panel. The valve will be on the left side. There will be live power, so use extreme CAUTION. Start the DW, 1. if you can hear the valve humming or the valve coil is getting warm, replace the valve. 2. Using a device with wires to check the power at plugs, connect to valve power connection, if power is present, replace valve else replace electronic control board.
