SOURCE: I bought a psh1 to spray latex as the reviews

you should not listen to propaganda spells... this particular gun is good for automotive and other low density paints, with nozzle of 1.5mm it will not handle high density paints correctly!

for latex paints you need nozzle of minimum of 1.8mm, i am actually not using anything below 2.4mm for latex!

you need to check on paint manufacturer site or on the label what is maximum dilution for this particular paint, for latex paints, dilution vary between 3% up to 25%, you need to check with manufacturer...

in short to answer your question - yes, it is wrong gun for that paint...

if you find my answer helpful, feel free to comment, feel free to leave some points as well... :-)

Instructions for earlex 120 sprayer

http://www.manualslib.com/manual/388222/Earlex-Ags120.html
there is your link for your spray gun in general every time you use any spray gun it needs to be cleaned run solvent through it to clean it -water for latex, paint thinner for oils remove the tip housing take out the fluid needle clean it every time so it looks like new.
As for thinning stay around 15% in general latex paint does not atomize well so I tend to stay away from latex on metal parts or like a small box and so on however yes we use latex on homes but an airless sprayer is used you basically have a style of "cupgun" thats for detail work... Spray gun problems

You basically have what is called a "cupgun" and there are a few reasons for this and it should be pretty simple to fix I want to stress that anytime you spray the paint no matter what latex-oil needs to be thinned with the compatible solvent water for latex paint thinner for oil/Alkyd by about 10% - 18% that could be the problem if you have latex in your gun but probably it has to do with the "needle seat" in the back of the gun there should be a knob to adjust the needle turn your gun on pull the trigger and turn knob till paint comes out if that wont work you may have debris in your paint that has clogged the stem pour all the paint out clean gun completely pour paint threw a strainer cone or strainer bag and be sure to thin it...

My Wagner paint ready sprayer will not spray paint

I'm sorry to hear that the container is stuck to your sprayer. Besides a bad thread or cross-threading, there isn't really any reason the container would be stuck - unless paint had been left in the gun long enough to cause it to dry. call 1-800-328-8251 and they'll do our best to assist you with this.

As a note, the Control Spray Double Duty is a thin body material sprayer for things like stains, sealers, varnish etc. Not for thick latex materials, which I suspect is what you're applying to the wall and ceiling. Not that this would cause the container to get stuck on the gun, but I wanted to point out that this gun probably isn't the best for the project you are tackling.

What cleaner should i use to clean my sprayer after using latex paint?

Clean it once with water then remove the filters and clean it a second time.
When we store our machines for an extender time we use mineral spirits, even better is to add a small amount of motor oil to the paint thinner ( mineral spirits) to keep the leather packings from drying out.
Even with doing you best job cleaning there is a good chance the inlet ball will stick when you start the machine up. To fix this problem tap the inlet with a hammer. Some machine have built in plungers to do this.

What is the correct concistancy the paint needs to be mixed at for the dynatec psg 45 electric spray gun

It depends on 3 things.
What you are painting.
Whether you are applying latex, oil-base, or primer.
What size TIP you are using.
We use spray equipment and use size 17 and 19 for latex, and 11 for oil.
Double-check the size that came with your gun and look at tips at Home Depot.
Old tips wallow out and the spray pattern is irregular/uneven and the gun blows out too much paint and our material costs go up.

The manual says "dilute correspondingly"
http://www.airless.com.au/Airless%20Sprayer.pdf
Let's say you are spraying oil-base stain: I would NOT dillute this material.
Oil-base primer: 1 thinner to 4 paint
Latex primer: use a roller and brush so you have a good undercoat for the paint.
Oil-base paint: I would add 1/8 thinner with 1 paint, and be careful of runs
Latex stain: try 1 water to 4 stain
Cheap interior flat latex: 1 water to 4 paint
Latex semi-gloss interior: 1-1/8 to 4 paint and apply very thin coats and let dry between coats.
Cheap exterior flat latex: 1+ to 4 paint, and add more or less water as needed
Good exterior latex paint: use a roller and brush because the purpose of latex exterior pain is to apply heavy protective coat over outdoor materials ... dilluted exterior latex will not give sun and mildew protection.
We use heavy spray equipment and apply exterior latex straight form the can. It's the only way to give lasting job, unless you're doing a temporary playhouse.

The key to successful spraying is to strain your paint to get out the lump and clogs - BEFORE putting paint into the gun.
We always strain the paint unless it's a freshly opened can.
If can was opened yesterday, we strain it.
That because paint gets a dry film that will clog the sprayer.

First you need to mix your material, so you need a couple buckets.
Pour the paint and thinning material in 1 bucket, and then to mix, pour back and forth between two or three buckets. This action will mix the paint thoroughly and save you an hour of rotating a paint stir stick.
Next, you need to strain the paint.
Wash out a 5-gallon bucket.
Buy 5 gallon strainer that fits into bucket.
Pour material into bucket with strainer, lift strainer up and then grab end of strainer and squeeze out all the paint.
Immediately put lid over paint so no drying film will form.
Wash out strainer.
You're ready to put paint in spray gun.

Having trouble getting a good spray pattern when I use thick latex

You have two choices to fix this problem: First thin the paint and/or add a conditioner like Floetrol to make the paint flow properly. Second, use a tip with a bigger opening. On sprayer tips there is a three digit number (.ABC). The first number (A) is one half the spray pattern size when held 12 inches from the wall. A two will give you a four inch pattern, five will give you a ten inch pattern, etc. The last two numbers (BC) are the oriface size. For latex you should be using at least a .017 or .019 tip but if the paint has to be very thick you may need a .021 or larger.

your air compressor is "cycling". you don't have a consistent pressure on the gun. I had the same thing happen with 2 different Husky paint sprayers....Turns out the sprayers were fine, I just had inconsistent air flow going to them....Turn your air compressor supply line down lower than the tank pressure and see if that does it for ya..........

Worked for about 10 minutes

do you have a gun that comes apart? alot of them have that filter in the gun that clogs up with latex.you could remove gun and soak in mineral spirits if it does not have that filter.

Hi

What size is the jet?
What compressor pressure are you using, LOW is good >20PSI
You will need quite a large jet for latex paint even thinned. I have tried a 1.8mm jet and that still clogs!! Consult your local spray painter with what size jet you need.

I am betting the standard size of 1.5mm is way too small, that type of gun is fine with the correct jet size.
