Hi, This sounds very interesting.
Here is what I would do.
1 I would, if you haven't done this already, connect the samsung into a different input. If you have a Video Input for a Laser Disk Player or VCR use the composite (yellow) from the DVD and analog left and right through the same. See what happens.
Additionally if your receiver has a "phono" input DO NOT USE THAT. It is super sensitive. Phono requires around 5/1000th of a volt for full output. Where as the CD, Aux, VCR and others require 1 volt for full output. An input overload condition will occur. That can shut down the receiver.
If you are having your receiver shut down with the samsung TV attached to a high level input, then the fault is definitely with the TV. It is defective. In this case contact samsung.
