Please keep in mind:
Some foods can be listed on the acidic or alkaline side depending on the source. Some of these food items are tomatoes, soy products, nuts & seeds, or fermented items such as sauerkraut.
Not all foods are what they seem either. Citrus would obviously be on the acidic side, right? Not true! Limes, oranges, and grapefruit are actually alkaline forming fruits!
Artificial sweeteners, alcohol, and highly processed foods are highly acidic forming that offer little or no nutritional value. These foods should be avoided or eaten very sparsely.
Not all acidic foods are unhealthy and often offer other nutritional benefits so make sure you don't avoid everything acidic and maintain a balanced diet.

Can I can cooked sauerkraut and pork


It depends on how you wish to cook it and the type of sauerkraut being used. Types with sugars shouldn't be cooked. It is best used as a marinate instead of direct cooking as the wilted cabbage will smoke/burn faster than the pork will cook. If its to be stuffed into the chops, that is possible but it depends on the thickness of the chops and any exposed sauerkraut.

If you want to increase the alcohol content to your beer, you need to add more fermentable sugar to the yeast. Fermentable sugars include; malt, honey, molasses and corn syrup).

This will increase the alcohol but you shouldn't go crazy as there is a limit to what you can add before you mess it up.

The Compupool CPSC/CPA Series is recommended to run at a salt concentration of 3500 ppm. If you are not installing a Compupool unit, check your manufacturer's instructions for their recommended level of concentration . Use a salt that is at least 99.8% pure NaCl. The preferred salt is an evaporated, granulated, food quality, NON-iodized salt. Avoid using salt with anti-caking agents like sodium ferrocyanide, also known as yellow YPS (prussiate of soda. These cause some discoloration of fittings and pool surface finishes. DO NOT use calcium chloride.

Using a salt water test strip, measure the current salt level of your pool. For the Compupool generators, ideal is 3500 ppm. If the level is low, determine the number of gallons in your pool and add salt according to the Salt Table. For example, if your pool has 15,000 gals of water and your current salt level is 2500, you need to add 125 lbs of salt.

Dishwasher has a terrible odor in it. I'm guessing it came from an empty sauerkraut glass jar and lid I put through the wash, heated dry and sanitize cycle. How do I get rid of that nasty, something...


Check whether the smell comes from the main drain. Pull your dish washer drain hose and check.

Leave dishwasher door open for few hours. Hope no rate has died inside the machine.

Run a empty wash several times!

Sorry about your bread problems. It is depressing to me to find an unsatisfactory result after going through the whole baking rigamarole. I had a similar problem early on, but I live in the Denver area, so I was also dealing with the high altitude problems, too. I started using Vital Wheat Gluten in all my bread recipes, and it helped a lot. I use a tablespoon per cup of flour, but you may want to start with a half tablespoon. I also put the salt in with the liquid ingredients, because you're not supposed to let salt touch the yeast. I also make sure to use non-iodized salt, because the iodizing stuff does bad things to the yeast. The final thing I always do is to set the timer for 10 minutes after it starts the knead cycle, and then I open the lid and touch the dough to see if it is too wet (add flour by tablespoons) or too dry (add water by tablespoons), until it feels and looks right to me. You are probably already doing most of these things already, but I thought I'd mention them just in case. Anyway, hope one of these things helps. Happy Baking!
