Leaking from under dishwasher. Has run great since 1996. Under counter model in manufactured home. Chnaged to drop in pellet dishwasher detergent and it ran great. There is no water inside the dishwasher...

Hi,

Depending on the model you have this could be a couple of things. The most likely suspect is the water inlet valve. What I would recommend to do is take the bottom toe panel off, typically there are either 2 or 4 screws holding this panel on. Once it is off look to see if you can tell which part of the dishwasher the water is coming from.

If you could send me the brand name and the model number from the tag just inside the door I would be able to help narrow down what to check.

Thanks

Hi. first my dishwasher is not filling with water. i then put water in the dishwasher and let it go thru its cycles. water will not drain now. garbage disposal is clear. any suggestions?

The easiest thing to do is check the water valve to make sure it's turned on. The water supply valve will be in a cabinet next to the dishwasher. There will be a tube that runs into the area behind/under the dishwasher. The valve will probably be under a sink. There are also waters valves that supply the faucet. There's a chance that the dishwasher water line will be connected to a splitter on the water line that connects to the faucet. Your dishwasher will otherwise have an independent valve. Turn the valve handle counter clockwise until it stops, making sure the water is on. If the dishwasher still won't fill, see if you can find a float inside on the bottom. This float should move up and down freely. There may be a spoon or something stuck under it. If the dishwasher has electronic controls, you can try cutting the power for a little while to reset it, holding down a stop/cancel button, or running a cycle that you don't usually run. One of these methods may be able to clear an error state if it exists.

Water does not enter dishwasher during wash cycle

Make sure the under-sink valve is turned on. Then suspect the water solenoid valve under the front may have an open coil or stuck shut valve.

Dishwasher on no water

Is the water valve under the sink on? Any kinks in the hose? Check to see if the water valve solenoid coil is open (located under the cabinet front).

Will not clean dishes on the upper rack

Make sure you get water to the dishwasher. Check to see if the water shut-off valve (located under the sink) is open. If you get water to the dishwasher, but there is still no water inside during the fill cycle, the problem might be with a faulty water valve (located at the bottom of the dishwasher, behind the kick panel, on either side), in which case replace the water valve.

If there is not enough water, the dishes would not get cleaned. This could be caused by a partially closed water shut-off valve (located under the sink), or a faulty dishwasher water valve (located at the bottom of the dishwasher, behind the kick panel, on either side).

There is usually two, sometimes three spray arms in a dishwasher. Make sure there is no debris blocking the holes inside each spray arm.

Bosch Dishwasher pump keeps emptying

Disconnect the power to the unit. Remove the lower access panels and check the tray under the dishwasher. You will probably find it is full of water. Use a towel or a sponge to remove the water. There is a float that will stop the operation of the unit and run the pump if water is in this tray. Test the unit. If there are no leaks, check the drain hose under the sink. THE DRAIN HOSE MUST RUN UP TO ABOVE THE TOP OF THE MACHINE THEN TO THE DRAIN. If the hose is not set up like this, water from the sink drain will flow into the dishwasher and overflow into the tray under it.

If there is no water in the pan under the dishwasher there may be a problem with the pressure switch at the side of the pump housing but the only way to know for sure is to do some electrical testing with a volt/ohm meter and the wiring diagram located within the appliance.
