SOURCE: Bass speaker not working

make sure speaker voice coil are still good...continuity checks will confirm this....as far as 6 channel hook up, you need to know what the lowest impedance allowed is from your system and then wire up your speakers in series /parallel to come up with a final impedance that will very closely match the systems minimum output impedance

If the speakers vibrate especially when the mega bass is on, does that mean that the speakers are blown on my icf-cdk50?

Real low bass is mostly vibration. Anything that has a "mega bass" 'enancement' is cutting corners to make up for bass-reproduction shortcomings. Speakers measuring 2-5/8' have no business reproducing real bass. Blown speakers would be silent. Torn cones from excessive volume might sound like unwanted vibration. Your vibration might be a resonance of the unit's own housing, mounting hardware or something nearby. Try moving it to another location.

These units are not economically repairable. If you like it and you think it's broken you might snag a whole new on on eBay with wise bidding.

I have logitech speakers for my computer. I need a new cable that goes from the bottom of the bass speaker to the two smaller speakers. A couple of the pins are broken on the plug that plugs into the bass...

logitech rarely has replacement parts. and for this model is not for the u.s. distribution so youcan not even call u.s tech support for help. try ebay or craiglist. if the connector is not proprietary you might be able to get a electronic repair shop to repin the connector.

Bass speaker issues

Are you saying that the woofer (big one) is connected to the same speakers in the same unit? Or is the Woofer on it's own?
If it is connected, then one of two things has happened. First the coil or connection to the speaker has broken or gone. The connection can easily be fixed with solder.
If it is the coil, then what you need to do is isolate the speaker from the rest. Then get a 1.5 volt battery and connect one end to one of the speaker connections and then the other end of the battery to the other, but for only a short time. If the speaker is working then the cone should move and it should pop. If it doesn't do either the speaker coil or speaker has failed and my guess is you will need to buy a replacement. If it does pop then it's good.
Your next step is to look at the crossover unit that connects all the speakers. Again check the connection wires and make certain they are good. You will see some large Inductors and capacitor(s) these control the bass section. You could replace the capacitor, it's likely to be a none polarised one. But check the inductor over too. It could have a bad connection.

Speaker has no bass

Make sure there are no wires that could be crossed (i.e. positive and negative).  Also check the speaker for any tears below the cone in above the magnet.  Hope this helps.  Good luck.

Do I have to have a powered bass module to make the cubes work?

Your Acoustimass 5 is a powered sub with powered surround speakers. If you are not getting sound output, the internal fuse may be open and you will have to replace it. Bose used a heavy multiple output cable terminated in a miniature DIN plug to connect speakers. You may be able to find one on eBay.

Speaker muffled and distorted

Don't know about the type of your hardware, but your description is very light. In order to further isolate the problem, I would do the following:

1. Replace the speaker with a working one. If this works fine, then it is really the speaker that is broken. If however the intact speaker shows the same problem when connected to the same channel, then the amplifier/equalizer has an issue.

If it is by this confirmed that the speaker is broken look at step 2:

2. Inside the speaker there is usually a frequency separation filter. Either the bass loudspeaker is damaged or the filter. Ideally you could exchange filter and loudspeaker with parts from a working speaker box and find out by this which component is defective.

3. Once you have identified the defective component, try to find out the brand and type and perform an internet search.

4. If you don't find anything, bring the whole thing to a repair service, they can order the spare part.

If you are too lazy or technically not very skilled, go directly to step 4.

Hope that helps

You need to take apart tthe sub woofer and check the connection to bass speaker for continuity. It sounds like an internal broken connection to speaker on sub woofer unit.
