SOURCE: Fender blues deluxe reissue is making a popping

Try tapping the tubes (especially the small ones) lightly with a regular wood pencil and see if you can detect noise. Also verify your guitar AND cable are not the source of the noise by using them on another amp. Verify that popping exists witout guitar cable being plugged in.

Also this is the season for static electricity. Shuffling shoes on rug may create pops due to discharges. Spray rug with Staticide if this is the case.

I have a Blues Deluxe it has started making a in and out sound similar to higher pitch hum but in and out at a constant pace

check out your tubes....it sounds like one is working its way out of its socket or you have a microphonic tube...may be time to replace them and have the amp serviced while you are at it. ...Does one tube have a whitish look? inspect them/.....are there any cracks? while it is on...tap them with a lead pencil...something NOT metal...does it make a loud noise? These are all indicators there is something going on with your tubes..Good luck

Why is my Fender Blues Deluxe Amp making a crackling sound without an instrument even plugged into it and when I do plug in, it quiets when I touch any place on the guitar?

You probably need a new input jack on the amplifier. When they get loose the connecting wires can crackle, but plugging a guitar in stabilizes them (no more crackle).

Is there any way to use a heil talkbox with a fender '65 deluxe reverb reissue?

No - you use these with a microphone. Plug you guitar into the Heil, put the tube in your moth and sing into a mic while playing. You CAN plug the microphone into the fender amp, but a PA system is better

Input not working

Need a bit more info before I would have a good idea of whats the cause. I t may be a jack, the preamp, or one of the opamp chips as examples (just to start) One of the first thing is to turn it on let it warm and simply see if all the tubes are lit. Next is to try both input channels. Plug something into the jack and play with controls. Then switch jacks and repeat. If you get no sound that means we are looking at something in the board or output end (well most likely anyway) What we are trying to do is narrow it down to a section of the board or tube or ******.

When these are working they are one of the best sounding amps. Unfortunately there are a few years where the build quality is less than perfect. My friend plays blues and I got so tired of fixing this beat I ended up taking all the parts off and using military and aerospace grade parts. Sounded better and it hasn't dared break again ;-] If this is a 90's one best advice is if you are going to a gig have a spare.

try a differrent speaker of suitable wattage and ohmage (displayed with a number next to a ? symbol on the back of the speaker),

or

remove the original amp speaker and gently push in and out on it, checking for uneven resistance or scratching. the speaker should retract and return smoothly, without any scratchiness or uneven resistance from within, and if there is any of this scratchiness or uneven resistance from within, the speaker is likely damaged from too much wattage or distortion.

Unable to activate reverb and drive channel with either cabinet switches or footswitch. Brand new out of the box so it must be something I am doing.

Make sure you have the CORRECT foot switch pedal. Try unplugging the pedal and then try the cabinet switches to see if they work. The pedal for this one has a different circuit than some. I have the schematic and we can do further testing.

The small opening that the speaker wire plugs into has fallen back into the speaker. I can't get the plastic cover off the speaker to put it back in place.

The grill on these is hard rto dislodge.

There are a couple little screws to remove. Then you have to be fairly aggressive to get the lip of the screen dislodged. start at the center of the SHORT edges and pry under in the middle. The edge of the screen goes into a grove with rubber on the side.

Note, some of these MAY have adequate access by removing the socket where the unit can set on a pole.
You MAY be able to manuever the plug and possibly lockwaser into place. Use a stiff wire with a small bent hook to capture the plug and pull i back through.
