SOURCE: freezer and refrigerator not cold fan working but

I'm ready to help you when you are. Zero may just be off on that model but if fans run then the compressor is also getting power and overheating. The start relay and components that keep the compressor going are what important now. Don't leave plugged in or the internal overload may damage. I will wait for a reply, Sea Breeze

SOURCE: GE bottom freezer began making a clicking noise, will not run

The clicking could be the start relay. If the start relay is bad, the compressor will not start and you will hear a clicking noise in 2-5 minute intervals. The clicking noise is the overload cutting the compressor off when it overheats from trying to start with a bad start relay. To find out if this is bad first unplug the refrigerator. Remove the lower cover from your refrigerator. Then take the cover off that is on the side of the compressor, you will see wires going to this. Now you should be able to see the start relay plugged on to the side of the compressor and unplug it. Now the best way to tell if it’s bad is to shake it. If it rattles, it’s bad and needs to be replaced. If not, most of the time it’s ok. But rather than saying the compressors bad, you might want to replace it anyways because it don’t cost much in most cases (less than $25). If you replace it and it doesn’t work then the compressor is bad and you’ll need you call a repairman. (Note that compressors are very costly and are normally not worth fixing). Ge monogram beverage center has ice build up and not cooling

Anytime there is ice buildup it will not cool. Was the door left open? If so that would cause ice buildup. If it wasn't left open and it is a frost free model you have a problem with the defrost circuit. Unplug it and Manually defrost it with items removed by using a hairdryer and towels to absorb water from defrosting Afterwards it will cool again .If the defrost circuit needs service the unit will continue to frost up. Usually in frost free models there is a heater that goes bad.

Edge star not cooling and clicking sound

the clicking sound may be the condenser fan. if the compressor is running, check to see if there is dust or ice blocking the air flow on the condensor or if the fan is moving slow. this will prevent cooling. remove any obstructions and replace the fan if necessary

My GE zdbc240nbs recently stopped cooling and the compressor felt very hot, so I replaced the compressor start relay, overload relay and capacitor. It is still not cooling but compressor runs. Any thoughts

The first thing to check is if you have the proper amount of refrigerant in the system, which requires special tools, at the very least a gauge set. You need to know the level of refrigerant is correct before replacing any more parts.

New house, cooler bought 2006. doesn't seem to run, but light is on

If the compressor is not running you will need to replace the "start relay" and the "run capacitor" on the compressor.
Here is the start relay to order.
Here is the capacitor to order.
Here is a diagram to show you the part locations.
The start relay is number 89 on the diagram and the capacitor is number 96.

The parts come with a 365 day, any part, any reason return policy.

Fan in cooling compartment

The fan inside the unit should run all the time, this insures a more constant temp throughout the compartment by keeping the air moving.
