Question about Westinghouse Dryers
There are no replacement parts for this switch, so we wouls like to wire the fan to run one way only as we live in a hot climate...is this possible it is a Westinghouse 5 blade/4 light model, and I think it is more than 10 years old.

remove the vent on the dryer that goes to the outside start the dryer if it continues to ru n and not cut off you have a venting problem of the house
if it cuts off after 5 mins with the vent off you have a motor that is going bad

SOURCE: Reversing blade direction
I just found this on another site. The answerer there said he hit "med-hi-med-hi" on the remote. I tried that, nothing seemed to work. I was impatient and frustrated and I did that a bunch of times, then tried "lo-hi-lo-hi" a few times. Anyway, I finally gave up and it worked! So it was one of the combos of 2 speeds that worked. It's great!

Let's say you originally only had one switch (to operate the fan). And at the fan you have only one black, one white, and one ground (bare or green). You can still put in a fan/light combo. but both the light and the fan will always come on together when you flip the switch. To do this you'd connect the black from the switch to the black AND the blue on the fan and connect the white from the switch to both whites on the fan and connect the ground from the switch to either a green or bare wire on the fan or to a green screw on the fan housing somewhere (whatever is available).
