Started the computer in safe mode. Still having the same issue.

Yes, I can boot in Safe Mode. I have ran the anti virus software to detect the problem . It states that I have trojans on my computer. I have no idea what this is. After, running the anti virus I tried restarting my computer in safemode, however the same issue kept happening as stated before.

well my dvd rom is not working so i wouldn't be able to back up any files. I have windows xp. I think the hard drive is about to crash. It stated on my Kaspersky Internet Anti Virus that the database was obsolete, well I updated the database (all in Safe Mode).

A Trojan Horse is a sneaky form of virus. Unless your antivirus software is up to date, with the latest virus definitions, you may not be able to remove it. You may need to take the computer to an expert and let him/her remove the Trojan Horse.

After updating the database, did you scan the hard drive again? Was it able to remove the Trojan? I would suggest borrowing a USB external DVD writer so that you can back up your files.

Try backing up your important files if you have not been doing so and then format your hard disk. If you are using Windows vista, you can do a restore using RECOVERY MANAGER through clicking ALL programs

Computer freezes up can't view all videos can't view some graphics what to do?

Hello,

You have three possible problems now.

1. Software issue - outdated drivers
2. Software issue - virus
3. Hardware issue - graphics card or RAM

Here's what you need to do to fix the problem.
1. Run an anti-virus scan. If it hangs in the normal mode, while trying to run the anti-virus scan then do it in safe mode.

Restart and tap F8 while it's starting up. Use the arrow key to highlight safe mode and hit enter.

Once inside safe mode, run your anti-virus scan. If you have a premium anti-virus then the virus infection should be removed.

You can also update the drivers in the computer. You can use RadarSync to scan all drivers so that you can cover them all (all possible outdated drivers), and you can either Google the updates to install them or use RadarSync to automatize the updating process.

If none of these don't fix the problem, then go back to safe mode and check if it does the same there. If not, then the last resort is to do a clean reinstallation. If it's hanging even in safe mode, then it's a different story now. It's hardware problem and you need a technician to check that.

I hope this helps!

David

Getting late started and many virus

If your system will not boot up correctly and you suspect a virus is the problem, a recommended solution is to start your computer in safe mode and run a virus scan. By running your computer in safe mode, non-essential processes do not start and non-core components are disabled. In other words, only the minimum necessary programs will load. Tough to remove viruses, spyware and other malware usually have no chance to run and disrupt your system and can more easily be removed.
To run a virus scan in safe mode, you must have active anti virus software installed on your computer.
To run a virus scan in safe mode, follow these steps:
1.If your computer is on, shut it down
2.Power on your computer
3.Immediately after you power on your computer, repeatedly press the [F8] key (about once per second)
4.In the Windows Advanced Options Menu screen, use the arrows to select Safe Mode and presss [Enter]
5.Select your current operating system and press [Enter]
6.Select the user you would like to login under (if applicable)
7.When your system finishes booting, click the Start button on your task bar
8.Move your cursor over All Programs and navigate to your anti virus program
9.Click on your antiv virus program to run it and follow the anti virus program's normal steps to run a virus scan
10.After the virus scan is complete, Delete all detected viruses
11.Close out of your anti virus software
12.Restart your computer (it should start in normal mode)

Your Feedback is greatly appreacited.Thank you for using FIXYA.

Whenever I do a full system scan for viruses with system shield, computer says the program has stopped working and will close. What does this mean and how do i fix it?

The computer may have been infected before installation of the anti-virus software. You should try booting into Safe Mode and running the scanner from there. In order to get to safe mode, properly shut down your computer. Turn the power back on and tap the F8 key. This will get you to a boot selection screen. Select Safe Mode with Networking and the computer will boot into safe mode with the ability to get online. Then run the virus scanner.
I highly suggest downloading TDSSKiller from Kaspersky, as well. This is a rootkit detection and removal program. You can get that program here, and that will detect any malicious software on the computer that may not be picked up by any antivirus.

You were not nery clear on the issue, however I think you may have a "rogue" virus. They are pretty prevelent right now. Download http://www.malwarebytes.org/ & install it. You may have to start in the safe mode with networking. 1st run the quick scan, then the full scan.
