My acer aspire 1200

On the Acer 1000 Series there is a common problem with the DC Socket or So-called Powerjack.
Its a bit long winded to help you diagnose that here. A better result would be to run the diagnostics at: www.powerjackrepair.com

To repair the DC connector on the laptop, you need to disassemble the laptop down to the system board. Here is a guide on how to repair the jack after you get the system bd. out.

Powerjack

I get all jacks for my shop through Ebay. There are several vendors that sell only dc jacks, and are unbeatable on their prices. Most jacks cost approx $6 with shipping, so browse Ebay for the jack.

This can be due to several reasons
1)The charger is dead-> Try a different charger
2)The dc powerjack on the laptop is burnt(you have to take it part and check it...
3)Last but not least it could be a battery problem..you have to get a new battery..

My satellite P35-S611 will not run on AC power nor will it charge the battery

I have just fixed the same problem on my Toshiba p35 s611.
The power jack inside the laptop had been damaged. To reach the problem you must take apart the entire laptop (there are a few guides for doing this online). Next I simply found the positive connection coming from the jack (it is the wire coming out of the back of the jack) and followed it to where it enters the motherboard. I simply flipped it around and re-soldered that one spot. Other sites recommended I remove the jack but I couldn't melt the solder enough to do so, however just trying and adding some fresh solder was enough to fix the problem. I no longer need to jiggle the power connector to the right angle just to get power.
