We do not have a owners manual and we just purchased the new LG Convention range LSB5682SW and we would like to know how to set the timer and the clock. I am not that savvy when it comes to th ese things...

You can get the manual here
http://www.lg.com/us/support/product/support-product-profile.jsp?customerModelCode=LSB5682SW&matchedModelCode=NOT_MATCHED&searchEngineModelCode=LSB5682SW&initialTab=documents&targetPage=support-product-profile#
SETTING THE CLOCK
The CLOCK pad is used to set the clock. The clock has been
preset at the factory for 12 hours operation. When the range
is first plugged in, or when the power supply to the range has
been interrupted, the timer in the display will show with
power failure "PF". You can make a choice between 12-hour
clock and 24-hour clock (refer to the page 28):
1. Press CLEAR/OFF pad.
2. Press CLOCK pad.
3. Press 1, 3, 0 pads to set the time if the time of day is 1:30 (whatever the time is choose the correct numbers)

4. Press START pad.
The clock will start.

CHANGING HOUR MODE ON
CLOCK(12hr, 24hr)
Your control is set to use a 12-hour clock. If you would
prefer to have a 24-hour time clock, follow the steps below
1. Press and hold COOK & WARM
pad for 3seconds. "OPt" will be
displayed.
2. Press "1" pad. The display will
show "CLO 12H"
3. Press "1" pad to switch between
the "12H" and "24H".
4. Press START pad to accept the
desired change
I hope I have been of help but please do not hesitate to ask if you have any further questions.
I appreciate your vote if you appreciate my reply.

Operation manual is lost, how do I set the clock?

The manual for the Magic Chef MCD1311ST Microwave can be downloaded in pdf format from the following site (follow the link then click the "Manuals" tab):
http://www.mcappliance.com/mwodetailpage.aspx?ModelName=MCD1311ST

If you don't have time to download, here's what the instructions state:

SETTING THE CLOCK
When the oven is first plugged in, the display will flash ":0" and a tone will sound. If the AC power ever goes off, the display shows ":0" when the power comes back on.

1. Touch CLOCK pad.
This is a 12 hour clock system.

2. Touch CLOCK pad once more.
This is a 24hour clock system.
NOTE: This oven has multiple clock system. If you want 12 hour clock system, omit this step.

3. Enter the correct time of day by touching the numbers in sequence.

4. Touch CLOCK pad.
The display stops blinking, and the colon start blinking. If you selected 12 hour clock system, this digital clock allows you to set from 1:00 to 12:59. If you selected 24 hour clock system, this digital clock allows you to set from 0:00 to 23:59.

5. Touch STOP/CLEAR pad.

NOTE: If you attempt to enter an incorrect time, the time will not be set and a error signal tone will sound. Touch the CLOCK pad and re-enter the time.

Touchpad is not working

Hello :

If touch pad has gotten wet, then allow to dry for several days. Avoid spraying cleaning liquid near touch pad.
Check for insect infestation. Insects (cockroaches most frequently) will appear under clear surface of touch pad or under readout window; they like the warmth of the circuit boards.
Place window mesh over vent to keep insects out.

good luck .

The clock works & counts down but the microwave won't heat

  • Disconnect the power for 30 seconds. After restoring power, do not set the clock.
  • If your model has an ON/OFF clock display, you can choose not to have the time displayed. To choose this option, press the 0 pad for about three seconds. To Turn the display back on, press the 0 again.

Touch the clock pad. Enter in the correct time of day by touching the numbers in sequence. Touch the clock pad again.

The keypad does not work. The display screen says "Press -----k". I'm assuming it's telling me to press clock to set time. But none of the keys work when I press any. Earlier only the Start/Pause key...

try powering down for 30 seconds. if that doesn't work the keypad is shorted or open. do not spray cleaner directly onto key pad when cleaning. it will short it out. rather spray cleaner onto a rag then wipe.

No numbered touch pad for use setting clock

I think on this one you press the CLOCK/TIMER pad, then enter the desired time using the 10 MINUTES, 1 MINUTE, AND 15 SECONDS pads then press CLOCK/TIMER again.

If that doesn;t work, press STOP / CLEAR then try the above again.

Let us know if it does not work.

Whirlpool MH1170XMB over range MICROWAVE - DEAD

A microwave can be dead for many reasons.

If it goes dead for a while during or after cooking then comes back on, the magnetron is probably overheating and causing the magnetron thermostat to open. Then when it cools, it closes the circuit and allows power through again.

If it's intermittent or random, it may be a bad connection, usually on the control board or a loose fuse holder.

If it went dead almost immediately after pressing the Start pad, that's usually a shorted high-voltage capacitor.

If it went dead a few seconds after pressing the Start pad, that's usually a failing high-voltage transformer.

If it goes dead or blows the breaker when you plug it in or open or close the door, then there's a problem with a door switch or door switch mount.

If the fuse is good, it may be an open thermostat or thermal cutout on or near the magnetron or on top of the cavity / body of the oven.

If you or a friend decide to look into it, we have critical safety information and disassembly information at our site, and our link is at our listing here on FixYa: http://tinyurl.com/yzjozk

You can usually find helpful exploded view diagrams and order parts by entering your full model number here: http://tinyurl.com/gv383
