SOURCE: No power to machine - there is power to the plug

I had the same thing happen. I took the top off and realized that the power cord from the factory went out the back.....back in an opening.....across the back but on the inside and out another opening. The part crossing the back on the inside was near the motor and belt and was cut through the hot wire and ground. Someone has to be an idiot to run the wire in the design on the inside.

Maytag 4000 series washer won't start, once you press the start button machine power off..

Power off means a short circuit. Either the PC controller board has a defective part or the safety electronic / shut down protection has indicated a fault and opens to prevent a fire, electrical damage, or other condition.

Pfaff 6230 Foot Control quit working. Light behind Stitch panel, speed, needle down, & 1 stitch at a time doesn't light up. Are these 2 problems? What do I need besides replacing Foot Control?

Um, it could be no power to your machine, I would suspect it is the power cord, plug or possibly an internal electrical issue. If the foot control failed, the machine's light should still work.

LG WM2016CW When I hit on button it chimes but control panel doesn't light and washer won't start

To determine if the user control and display board is defective, try pressing the buttons on the control panel. If some of the buttons work, but others do not work, the control and display board might need to be replaced. Additionally, if the display is not working, check the power to the user control and display board. If the user control and display board has power, but it isn't working, replace it.
The main control board may also be faulty.

Flashing lights

Possible that the control panel has encountered an error and so is erratic.
Remove power for sometime and see if the machine resets.
If not the control panel board is a suspect. Remove the board to confirm the case , check the working of the power supply and processor.

Nothing works on control panel except control locked sensor light. The buttons were working fine then I went to add more drying time and the buttons do not light up or work.

From the details of your symptom you're indicating a possible intermittent loose connection between the user interface (touch panel) and the machine control board or the voltage supply to machine control board at P1 connector.

Disconnect the power cord from the power source.

  • Disconnect P3 and P4 connectors from the machine control board and then reconnect them.
  • Disconnect P1 connector and then reinstall the P1 connector and then recheck operation.

If the wires are good then you will need to replace the control board on your unit.
Here is a link to the part.

Door is closed and the light stays on. after a while non of the buttons will work any suggestions.

I have the same problem but my interior drum light stays on whether door is open or closed; in either case the control panel becomes in-operable after about five minutes. I unplug the machine for 5 to 20 minutes then plug it back in and it is powered "on" the moment I plug it in (i don't even have to push the power button). Then the light remains on but i am able to operate the control panel so i can do a load of clothes. Then if the machine sits idle for no more than five minutes, the control panel becomes in-operable again and the interior drum light stays on.

Any one have a clue???

Control panel does not work

This is a process so right down everything, remove the 3 screws on the rear of the dryer for the top panel. Be sure you unplug the machine first before attempting this as high voltage is present. The front user panel is clipped to the chassis and we need to check two items. First the wire harness from the motor control unit to the panel and how well is the board attached to the panel. Look inside and you will see catchs bottom and top, with carefull lifting up and out the top loosens and then the bottom. We want to check the assembly and how well the wires are attached. If all looks sound unplug the board from the motor control unit and replug the unit. Now reattach to the chassis, make sure all is clear of the top and plug it in. Try to power up the unit, if not the panel is dead.
From when you mentioned the dryer light worked I know power is there for the board but I will not say off hand just buy a board, test always look for loose panels and wires then we go broke buying the part. Last is the machine new? If less than a year call sears, 1800for my home and have them fix it!

Drum light works - contol lights don't/can't start dryer.

Either the machine control, or the user interface. Further diagnosis isn't possible. I'd try the machine control first. It's just under the top panel, along the left side.
