Start by checking door latch.

Um, it could be no power to your machine, I would suspect it is the power cord, plug or possibly an internal electrical issue. If the foot control failed, the machine's light should still work.

Defective power switch.

Possible that the control panel has encountered an error and so is erratic.
Remove power for sometime and see if the machine resets.
If not the control panel board is a suspect. Remove the board to confirm the case , check the working of the power supply and processor.

From the details of your symptom you're indicating a possible intermittent loose connection between the user interface (touch panel) and the machine control board or the voltage supply to machine control board at P1 connector.

Disconnect the power cord from the power source.

• Disconnect P3 and P4 connectors from the machine control board and then reconnect them.
• Disconnect P1 connector and then reinstall the P1 connector and then recheck operation.

If the wires are good then you will need to replace the control board on your unit.

I have the same problem but my interior drum light stays on whether door is open or closed; in either case the control panel becomes in-operable after about five minutes. I unplug the machine for 5 to 20 minutes then plug it back in and it is powered "on" the moment I plug it in (i don't even have to push the power button). Then the light remains on but i am able to operate the control panel so i can do a load of clothes. Then if the machine sits idle for no more than five minutes, the control panel becomes in-operable again and the interior drum light stays on.

Any one have a clue???

Either the machine control, or the user interface. Further diagnosis isn't possible. I'd try the machine control first. It's just under the top panel, along the left side.
