Unlock number lock

On a laptop, the "Num Lock" key has a function slightly different than the one it performs on full-d desktop keyboards. Activating "Num Lock" on a laptop usually transforms a set of central keys, including many letters, into number keys, allowing typists used to entering numbers on a keypad to type efficiently. While on desktop keyboards "Num Lock" usually has a dedicated key, on laptops it often shares a key with another function on MacBooks, for example, it shares the "F6" key and you must hold down the "Shift" or "Fn" key to activate it.

Look for the "Num Lock" key on your laptop's keyboard. This is usually near the top of the keyboard. If the key says nothing on it except "Num Lock" if that's the only function the key performs you can just press it to activate the lock; a light will probably go on somewhere to indicate that "Num Lock" is on. If the key has multiple functions, you'll have to hold down a different key while pressing it. Hold down "Shift" and press "Num Lock" if the writing saying "Num Lock" appears above some other writing on the key, the way various symbols appear above the numbers on the keyboard's number row. Hold down "Fn" and press "Num Lock" if the writing saying "Num Lock" appears in a different color often light blue that's shared by the "Fn" key.

The keyboard is locked, is there an unlock code?

Try this

To lock keyboard with filterkeys activate sticky keys by pressing the shift key 5 times. Go to settings and click the radio button 'use filter keys' this locks the keyboard and gives nifty little sounds all except the taskbar button if keyboard has one. easily unlock by double clicking little clock emblem in the bottom right hand corner of screen and deselecting use filter keys. Make sure you hit 'apply'

Toshiba Satellite A45-S250 non-numeric keys locked

Your keyboard logic chip is in need of therapy.

Replacement of keyboard warranted.

Now, I thought that it might be a redesignation of your language code, but that proved not to be the case.

My keyboar5b keys acting up

Press Shift and Scroll lock at the same time. It looks like your function is toggled on, this will toggle it off, so when you need to use the function keys all you need to do is hold the button.

How can I unlock the blue function keys on my HP Pavilion dv2000?

Hi, I had the same problem and found the solution on another website:

To turn on and off Bilingual blue keys:

Hit Ctrl + Shift + shift
(yes, both shift keys at the same time in addition to ctrl)

and that turns on and off the Canadian bilingual blue keys on HP lap tops.

It's so annoying and happens to me frequently. Hope this helps.

7330GZ Gateway laptop keyboard doesn't work

There is one thing you can try. Uninstall the drivers for the keyboard from the device manager, then reboot. The machine will find the keyboard and reinstall the drivers automatically. If this doesn't work, then I'm afraid the Shift key function has failed and the keyboard will need replaced in order to fix it.
