317b762.jpg4a538aa.jpg067f3f0.jpg5077a62.jpgca392ef.jpge76904e.jpg77309d5.jpgThis is an older b&d stapler but the designs are similar in most cases. The position of the springs, and the order you put them in, are an obvious factor.
The parts that overlap go in after the parts underneath.
When you have one half assembeled you should not have to force the cover to go on, it should just sit in place while you put the screws back in.
If the handle coil spring and the flat spring are not seated properly the top cover will not go on easily.
These types of staplers are designed to clear from jamming without being taken apart, the staples, under normal circumstances, do not have access to the body of the unit past the flat spring.
As with any tool forcing the tool after a fault will only make matters worse, I would try some light oil or spray lubricant first before taking anything apart, these springs can be a pain to get back in, which is why I have not taken this one any further apart. Hope this helps you. If it does please let fixya know.
Regards
Les

at the rear of the gun at the bottom is a spring loaded sliding rail, push it in, and pull down about 1/2 inch and than pull toward you either the staples will go on the rail or put the staples as if you want them to come out of the gun, push the rail back in and push the latch back into the gun so that that spring doesnt come shooting back at you. than the gun is ready

How do I load staples into my JT21 staple gun?

At the end of the stapler opposite where the staplers are driven out is a release.

Push it in and turn it and it should come out with a long spring

Load your staples, put the spring back and lock it.

You need to load just enough staples in it that when you put retaining spring and clip back in that it will let catch on back of spring to go into slot in frame. I hope this helps. Thank you

very simple to fix it 1 pull the trigger all the way out 2 there is a little piece of metal, pull it all the way out (detach the piece out from the gun) an connect one side of the spring 3 push the piece back on the gun. 4 on the other side of the spring tide a little fishing line 5 pass the fishing line over a small rounded piece and pull it hard 6 finally connect the side of the spring onto a little hock on the base of the trigger

Cannot load staples

At the back of the staple gun is a flat shaped metal piece. It's at the bottom. Push in, pull down, then pull the mechanism out. You'll see it's a metal rod with a spring, that is attached to that flat metal piece. The spring pushes against another flat metal piece, that has a hole in it, and travels back, and forth on the rod.

The flat metal piece that the spring pushes down the rod, pushes against the staples.

Remove this spring mechanism, slide the staples down the rails. The staples will be in the position of an upside down U. Replace the spring mechanism, and lock it back into place. (Push in, pull up)

Should, your question be in reference to the fact that you have staples loaded, but upon pressing the trigger nothing comes out:

In the front of the staple gun, is a flat metal piece that pushes down on the staples. One staple at a time. The flat metal piece is shoved down by spring pressure. The spring pressure is applied to the flat metal piece each time you squeeze the trigger. (Flat metal piece = Hammer)

Sometimes, Two staples try to come out. When they do, this flat metal hammer is stuck up in the gun. To free the flat metal hammer, remove the spring mechanism out of the back of the staple gun. (The spring mechanism discussed above) Remove any staples in the gun.
Try to use a flat blade screwdriver, and see if you can shove the flat metal hammer in the front of the gun -> UP.
(DO NOT have the staple gun pointing at your face! DO NOT squeeze the trigger! DO NOT use excessive force)

If this method is of no avail for you, you have to disassemble the gun, and remove the metal hammer, and stuck staple/s.

Problem loading gun..Where do we put in the staples and change the dial to accomodate it? fred

The staples should load in through the end of the hammer stapler. The end is spring loaded to push the staples forward, so push the end - usually a crome square - into the handle end then move that part up approximately 1/4 inch and pull back. The spring mechanism should slide out so you can add new staples. These staplers take a specific size of staple and a certain number to allow you to put the spring mechanism back into the stapler. If you do not know the correct size for your stapler someone at your local hardware store can help you find the correct size and they will probably even show you how to load it. Good luck!

The staples do not go on the bar you pull back but directly into the bottom once you have pulled the bar back. I was trying to put the staples on the bar at the back and push them into the stapler.
