Cold reset requires no password. Go to the machine and turn it off. Power it on and when the memory count starts, hold down the 6 button on the keypad. Hold until all three leds turn on and stay on. Release the 6 button, press the 3 button until display reads "cold reset", press 6 once more and printer will restart.

Won;t reboot after doing a cold reset on the machine

Why did you do a cold reset? If it was because the printer would not initiate, then you have a defective formatter board.

Hi, I need to reset my Printer using cold reset option. please help.

? Cold Reset
CAUTION All HP Jetdirect settings are also reset. Be sure to print a configuration page
before performing a cold reset. Make a note of the IP address that is listed on the Jetdirect
page. You must restore the IP address after performing a cold reset.
Use this item to unlock menus that have been previously locked and to set all control panel menu
items (including EIO settings) back to the factory defaults. However, using this item does not clear
the values in the SERVICE menu (such as the serial number and page counts).
NOTE Before performing a cold reset, print a menu map and a configuration page.
Use the information on the configuration page to reset any customer-set device configuration values that the cold reset procedure changes.

Hi Expert. I need to reset my printer ist hp m5035mfp plase I need you Help

Hi,

Blow are the steps to do a "cold reset" on your HP m5035 MFP Printer. Just be reminded though that you will lose all stored info on the printer and it will restore it to factory settings.

How to perform a Cold Reset:

1. Turn the off the device.

2. Turn the device on and immediately hold down the 6 button on the control-panel keypad as soon as the control-panel display backlight illuminates.

3. Continue to hold down the 6 button until all three control-panel LEDs remain illuminated. Release the 6 button.

4. Use the 3 button or the 9 button to scroll to Cold Reset.

5. Press 6 to select the Cold Reset function.

The unit should then restart.

Hope this helps.

I need to reset default definition for this Printer. regards

If you are looking to factory reset, then what you need to do is turn the power off, turn the power back on, when the memory count starts, press and hold the 6 key until the three leds on the control panel stay on solid. Press the 3 key until "cold reset" shows in the display and then press 6 again. Unit will start up and factory defaults will be loaded. In some cases this will not clear the set network settings for the printer but it does get all other settings to factory.
