Sounds like the door ajar switches are sticking check doors one at a time to see which switch is doing it remove switch check wire behind switch if thats ok replace switch

Principles of Operation
Interior Lighting
The interior lighting is broken down into two groups: the courtesy lamps and the illuminated entry lamps. Both lighting features interact with the courtesy light arbitrator. The battery saver is also listed in this section.
Courtesy Lighting
The courtesy lamps consist of the dome lamp and/or map lights. The courtesy lamps can be activated by the GEM using the panel dimmer switch, or by any ajar door. The courtesy lamps will shut off when the doors are closed and the illuminated entry feature is not active, or when the vehicle speed is greater than 8 kph (5 mph). The interior lamps will not be reactivated until the vehicle speed is less than 5 kph (3 mph) and a new door open warning lamp switch signal is received. The inputs are:
courtesy light switch , is door ajar switch an it's part of the door lock actuator . Light on coming on ? Not going off ? The ajar switch is a input to the GEM module , fords BCM - body control module . The GEM will energize a relay to turn on the lights .
The GEM will illuminate the interior lamps when any door is open or ajar. The interior lamps are; the dome lamp, the rear cargo lamp, the door courtesy lamp and the side rail lamps. The courtesy lamps will shut off when the doors are closed and the illuminated entry feature is not active or when the vehicle speed is greater than 5 mph (8 km/h). The interior lamps will not be reactivated until the vehicle speed is less than 3 mph (5 km/h) and a new door open warning lamp switch is received.
The GEM controls the interior lamps illuminated entry function by activating the interior lamp relay.
Mite be a good idea to have it check for DTC'S - diagnostic trouble codes .

well most likecly you have a bad latch, since you do not mention the year, earlier models had a button on the door jam, later models is all incorporated in the door latch, usally if it is the latch, the door don't close with the remove and some times it doesn'h shut properlly.
same thing happened to me. also interior light stayed on and power locks wouldnt work. It was our door latch assembly in drivers side door. part is $110 - $250 depending on where u get it
THE SWITCH MIGHT BE STUCK! OPEN YOUR DOOR, LOOK FOR A BLACK ROUND SHAPE BUTTON AND GRASP THE ROUND EDGES WITH YOUR FINGER AND PULL OUT AND SEE IF YOUR DOOR AJAR LIGHT COMES ON, ALSO CHECK THE FUSES AND LAST CHECK YOUR INTERIOR LIGHT BULB. GOOD LUCK!
This is usually caused by the switches sticking in the door latches.
Try spraying some WD40 in the latches and open and close the doors a
bunch of times that should take care of it.
Hey,try this. Get some WD40 or equivalent and spray it inside the door latch.Then open and close the door a few times. Do this on every door. Note which door the you sprayed when the door ajar light turns off because that will be the door latch you will have to replace. What happens is that the door ajar switch sticks.
