SOURCE: Wilson Jones Shredder Automatic On/Off

When auto function does not work there are two things to do 1st. canned air is your friend try blowing out the photo sensor that makes the auto function start. It is located in the very center of the feed point upper and lower parts meaning two areas to clean. they usually are little round spots when paper dust gets on them they either continuously run or do not run. Now 2nd if cleaning does not help then you may have bad photo sensor. you will need hands on tech. respond if having trouble and leave feedback if this helps. Have a nice day!

SOURCE: Shredder is Wilson Jones 130

Oddly, my Wilson Jones 130 auto just did exactly the same thing. I'm the only one that uses it (that I know of) and one day it worked, the next it didn't. There is no paper stuck in it. There are no power lights, nothing works. Does anyone know the location of a reset button or something?

My 17 year old Wilson Jones 1153 Model shredder can't be left plugged in-It drains the electrical circuits and turns our heater off. Other than that,it works great. Is this worth repairing-Suggestions?

Just take it apart and unplug the switch that is keeping it on. take pictures when you pull apart the cases. sometimes some of the screws are under labels. Should be no more than five screws. Paper has an oily presence and causes these type of failures.

I would like to know how to oil an Wilson-Jones 1250 schredder.

Wow, a name from the past.... with any shredder the easiest way to "oil it" is just to put a bead of oil in an "S" pattern down a sheet of paper to be shredded and then shred the sheet of paper.
If you shred a lot you should do this more frequently...if its only occassional shredding OR if its a strip cut shredder then you don't have to do this as often.
