Question about Pasquini Livia 90 Espresso Machine

My Livia 90 dosn't build pressure

In the past the pump will work for too long and I will get water coming out of the release valve. To mask the problem I used to tun it off and on few times till it stoped. Now when I turn it on it doesn't build preasure since the water comes out of the release valve before any pressure builds.

Thanks for you post. However, now I don't get any pressure when I turn it on before it heats up the water comes out of the release valve on the top of the tank.

Clean out the shower screen and the diffuser under the grouphead, turn the head on without the screen and diffuser, if water flows strongly then the problem was in the diffuser and screen, if you have no flow, then the line to the haed is clogged.

Remove the level probes one at a time and clean. One of them is not sending the signal telling the machine that it has enough water in the boiler.

Pump has started making gurgling sound

You may have an air lock try using machine on and off 5seconds each time sow that you give the pump time to regain the water.
If not try and inject water your self from the rare instead of water tank some time when you get air lock it is removed alone by just simply leave it over night after you had tryed the water pump because the air lock is removed alone slowly.

The machine does not produce water and makes loud ticking noise- pressure gauge spikes and release valve blows. What do you think is causing that-

Hi
That sounds like a couple of problems. For one the pressurestat is sticking and causing the pressure relief valve to release steam pressure. The second one is your probes are getting scaled and causing eratic water level senseing. They need to be cleaned. Replace the pressurestat first.

HI When you back flush do you use a detergent for espresso machines? If you don't your 3 way valve might be stuck with coffee oil residue. You might also have a bad 3 way valve.

I have a six plus year old Livia 90 Semi Automatic. It builds up pressure and then releases through the release valve, sometimes every 10 minutes, sometimes not for a couple of hours. Always quite a...

This is a simple fix. This has been fixed on newer units with a rewire kit. This rewire kit is for Pasquini Livia 90’s with serial numbers PRIOR to #49000. We have them listed on our website Part# 90000 for $30.00.
You can contact me for this part - If you are local we could install it for you. If you do not fix this problem soon, you will need a new pressure release valve. It would also be advised you get a microswitch #7633905 for $13 at same time as the rewire kit. If you still require a manual we could provide you with a digital version.

This is an early model livia 90 (~1994). Problem is no heating of water. Pump works but neither heating light or pump light comes on. I determined the power relay was not closing. Replaced it with new...

Hi
I would check the level probes on top of the boiler. There is a yellow wire going to the high level( left) and a green wire going to the low (right) probe. The probes get scaled and do not sense water. If there is no sensing of the right probe ( low water) it will not heat. They both need to be cleaned. There is a nut or a big nut that will allow for the removal. Clean both probes and it should go back to normal.

Pasquini. Livia 90 intermittently building up too much pressure

The part that will solve your problem is an upgraded heating rewire kit which will control pressure electronically, not manually. The rewire kit is Part #90000, $28

You may also need a new micro switch which is connected to your PStat with the rewire kit. The micro switch part #7633905, $13

These parts are in stock. I can send you these parts and instructions to install these parts in your machine.

Tooo much pressure

If you remove the top panel on the machine there is a pressure stat on the right side, with 2 wire connections going to it. That P.stat could be damaged and needs to be replaced, or the pipe to the P.stat is clogged and it cannot read the boiler pressure.

Livia 90 Lights come on then off, hums but not pumping

It is possible that the pump is blocked or damaged, remove top and side panels and check lines going to and from pump, you can run the machine without the panels and you will be able to see if the water is moving to the pump or if the pump is vibrating.

Pasquini Livia 90 - No water from the group head

The problem could be calcium built up blocking the jet and stopping the flow of water through your 3 way solenoid valve.
Otherwise the 3 way solenoid has stopped working. The 3 way valve part #91004 is $105 + shipping.

If you capable of removing the top and 3 body side of the machine, you can contact me and I can walk you through diagnosing if this is the problem with the jet or the valve. Before you call, make sure you have a philips screwdriver, 14 and 15mm open ended wrench or crescent wrench, flashlight, and paper clip.
