How to use the recovery tools cd

Good luck with the recovery cd. Most times they don't work, but you can give it a shot. You just put the cd in the drive and boot from it and follow the onscreen instructions. Most likely when you put the cd in the drive, then turn the computer off, turn it back on, the computer will most likely boot from it and start the recovery process. If not when you turn the computer on look at the screen and see which key it says to hit to Change the Boot Sequence or Boot Order, then hit that key. You have to hit the key when you see the message or it will not work and you will have to reboot and start over.

There might be instructions on the cd, so just look at the label on it.

I notice you are interested in installing a program instead of doing a complete Recovery of the system. Some manufacturers give separate cd's for the operating system and the application programs. If you have one for the application programs that is the one you want to use if you are only interested in reinstalling programs.

You can try reading the manual from HP Compaq's site.

Get online and got to www.google.com In the google search box type: "HP Support" or "Compaq Support" (without the quotes and put your manufacturer name before Support). Look for downloads and drivers. Enter your model number and operating system when requested. Look for Manuals and search them for System Recovery.

How i'll start to formate my dv6 hp laptop 2163tx step by step i'hv my recovery cd

Put the CD/DVD in the machine and re-boot it. If it doesn't readt it from the start you'll need to change the boot drive order in the machine's BIOS Setup which you get to when the machine is just starting up (look for the key to press during the boot up process). After you set the CD ROM to be the first boot drive - the recovery disk should boot the machine and get you going.

HOW TO USE EMACHINES RECOVERY DISCS

Turn your computer on.
When you see "Press <BLAH> to enter BIOS SETUP mode", press the <BLAH> key.

Change the "boot-order" to select your CD/DVD drive as the "first" boot device.

Put the first recovery-disk into your CD/DVD drive.

Save-and-exit from BIOS SETUP.

Your computer will "boot" from the media in the CD/DVD drive, and thus will start the "recovery" process.

Recovery disc instructions for northgate

Usually recovery disks need to be booted from switch on.
Switch on and insert CD then reboot.
Before it boots up go in to the Bios (Usually F2 or the Del key) and check to see if the CD Drive is the first drive to boot from.
If it is then it should start the recovery process from there.

Want to restore HP Pavillion 505 N computer back to original

To do a system recovery without recovery disks (not all machines can perform this without recovery disks) press the power button and immediately keep tapping the F10 button until you enter the recovery console.

If unsuccessful, you will need to boot using the recovery disks that came with the machine.
  1. Place the first disk in the 1st CD tray (some machines may have multiple CD/DVD drives) and start up.
  2. Start the machine and immediately press ESC button to enter BIOS
  3. Select the drive the recovery CD is in
  4. Press Enter
  5. Once the machine boots off the recovery disk it will provide several options
  6. Press R for a standard recovery
  7. Press F for a "destructive" recovery (will wipe out and format hard drive)
  8. Press Q to quit
Once you've made your selection, the recovery process will automatically proceed. It may ask for additional recovery disks which have more software.

NOTE: if you are currently able to boot into the machine prior to recovery you should go in and back up any pertinent files. Both recovery options will wipe out personal files.

How to do emachine recovery

emachine recovery is pretty much the same as on all pc's. Make sure your cd rom is set to auto play and the recovery process will start as soon as you insert the cd. If autoplay is not turned on, put the cd in, open my computer and scroll to the cd drive. You will see a file either called setup.exe or install.exe. Click on that file and it will bring up a screen giving you all available options.

How do i restart my philips iqon computer from the recovery disc

Usually you just put the disk in the drive and boot/restart from it and follow any instructions. If it does'nt boot from the CD it may be that the Bios needs changing so it uses the CD Rom as the first boot device. If it is set to boot from the CD Rom and it still is'nt booting then maybe there is a program somewhere on the hard drive to start the recovery process. It could be on a seperate partition if you have one.

HP PAVILION a305w

try getting into the bios and setting it to boot normally, turn off fast booting if its an option thats on, also, set your CD drive as the first boot devioce, then hard drive. Save and reboot, have CD in drive and just start hitting the F10 key as soon as it starts up, usually you hear a Beep when it detects that you are hitting the key for the boot options. HP pavilions where made to start and skip through the Post Process quickly to limit waitnig time, of course this sux when you want to boot from a cd.

You could try remove ing the BIOS Battery off the board and unplugging the system, wait a minute for it to discharge and put it back in, power it up and see if it lets you boot from CD.

Your bassically resetting the BIOS to factory defaults.

Also, i dont recomend buying HP Pavilions. i wokred on three seperate ones that a customer thought was a New machine ( this was back in 2001 ) but all the parts where 1995 parts, which means wghen they tried to upgrade to windows XP, XP doesnt have any generic drivers for hardware that old so nothing worked and yuo cant find any driver online that are that old.

Good luck anyway.
