Question about Computers & Internet
Hi Mean Gene
The problem here is I don't have enough information on your laptop. Your first step may be to install an application like ccleaner which allows you to run a scan on your computer for a variety of of issues and remove them automatically.
That being said Sony Vaio's are notorious for being "restricted" notebooks. What I mean with that is that Sony tends to build these machines with some rather extreme limitations which make the machines over time obsolete due to Windows' and other Software updates.
To give you an example Sony built a fantastic series of Windows Vista (okay not the best operating system) Notebooks which had all the specifications and features to run Windows 7 smoothly if you upgraded your ram. That being said you could not upgrade the ram, they limited the maximum amount of ram to 2gb which was bare minimum for any operating system at that point. This was done to compete in pricing and encourage further sales in the near future.
This I hope explains why I can't give you exact information based on your information. However running a piece of software like ccleaner will definitely get you going. Additionally if you have 2gb or less of ram then you have to see if your model of notebook can be upgraded as this will be a large factor in your machines performance (same applies to your hard drive).
Okay I hope this helped you at all and not just overwhelm you.

Tips for a great answer:
Sep 04, 2014 | Computers & Internet
Aug 09, 2014 | Dell Inspiron Computers & Internet
Feb 26, 2011 | Sony VAIO VGC-RB38G PC Desktop
If you were to log on to the
manufacturer's web site, I think you will be pleasantly surprised as
usually one is able to download, by model number, Customer
Instruction Manuals, list
of Dealers for spare part supplies and Driver
Just Google the manufacturer's name and
follow the links. Make certain you are directed to the manufacturer's
web site as some search engines direct you to other sites and they
charge for the information that is normally free of charge.
I hope this helps.
