Dishwasher will not fill up with water

I have a PDW7800 GE Profile dishwasher. I found the breaker kicked one afternoon. After that no water would come into the machine. I replaced the inlet valve/solenoid and the control. Still no water - $150 invested and still doesn't work. Any ideas?

- How do you check it???

Jun 18, 2009

- Removed the switch (hooked to the float) Not much to click - Just a flat piece of contact material that stays done on the switch. I jumpered the plug and it blew the breaker. Is the switch bad or do I have a bigger problem?

Jun 19, 2009

- Yes - I unplugged the switch and jumpered the plug

Jun 19, 2009

- Just replacing the switch won't help then right? Where else could the problem be??

- The coil in the bottom? How do you check it?

Jun 19, 2009

- That will take some work - the unit is still installed. I will have to pull it out. May not get to it until this weekend. I am looking for 0 ohm's correct?

- Thanks for all the help - much appreciated. Have a great weekend!

- follow the wires connecting to the intlet valve one goes to a micro switche not far away from the valve just check on and off , see if it clicks and if not just connect the two wires together and try that way

Jun 18, 2009

- you jumped the switch wires rigth not the intlet ones
