How do i remove the primer bulb on my homelite mighty lite 26cc blower

The primer bulb should be attached directly to the carburetor. There will be a plate with 4 screws, once on each corner, which you will have to remove to get the primer bulb off of the carburetor. You can find replacement primer bulbs at PartsBuggy.com.

Troy-Bilt TB425CS Grass Trimmer. The purge/primer bulb does not pull fuel from the fuel tank.... There is no visible fuel in primer bulb when the bulb is pushed.

You may have a fuel line, fuel filter problem. I recommend inspecting and/or replacing old fuel lines as they get old, brittle, flaky, and develop pin hole leaks in the fuel tank and around the carburetor fittings. If you choose not to replace them, problems will surface down the road. Sometimes the check valves in the carburetor that open and close to keep the fuel moving in the proper direction malfunction. They can sometimes be cleared with a lubricant such as WD-40 but real strong solvent tends to ruin them. A primer bulb on the carburetor is easier to service as you can remove the primer bulb base assembly (mounts on carburetor with screws) and spray WD 40 liberally into the pump area. A remote bulb is a little trickier, as you have to either inject the lubricant spray into the fuel lines and attempt to get the bulb to draw it to the carb to free check valves inside. This is if you don't want to remove the lines and service the carburetor. Also, a new bulb may be needed. Thet deteriorate the way the fuel lines do. They are rather inexpensive and you can get kits that include the new fuel lines, filter and bulb all together. Some of these parts are available in the garden center at Home Depot and many are on Ebay. Post back if further instructions are needed.

What will caus a primer bulb to leak gas directly from bulb on a craftsman snow blower ? I open the fule line at the tank and prime to start engin. Primer bulb leaks fule at center hole till i shut off...

Your primer bulb has a small hole in it, due to dry rot, you can take the bulb off and replace it with a new one very easy to replace, 4 screws, it is like a gasket.

Does it have spark? Yes not coil!
Replace the plug (very inexpensive)

You may need to use a jumper wire between the threaded part of the plug and the cooling fins. You don’t have to bend up the electrode.

When you removed the plug was it wet (flooded)? If not wet and you have spark put about a teaspoon of fuel mix into carburetor throat, reinstall clean air filter. Turn on ignition and pull a couple of times. Did it try to run?
Yes possibly fuel delivery problem Chech all fuel hoses and the filter on free end of hose in the tank.

  • The hose in the tank with the filter on the free end connects directly to the carburetor input connection.
  • If the saw is equipped with a primer bulb, an output line from the carburetor connects to the suction side of the primer (once the bulb is collapsed it draws fuel from the tank through the carburetor to refill as it inflates).
  • The pressure side of the primer returns displaced fuel to the tank as it is depressed.
Take lots of notes and a few digital photographs to help with reassembly.

Most chainsaw won't start problems with a good fuel delivery system are flooded.
Start Procedure
Cold:
  1. Ignition on/off to on
  2. Set compression release – optional step even if saw is equipped with a compression release
  3. Pull (close) choke, set fast idle (done when choke closed on some saws); pull starter and listen for an attempt to start. once heard (usually two pulls; no more than 4)
  4. Set compression release – optional step even if saw is equipped with a compression release
  5. Push (open) choke pull starter until it starts. (usually first pull)
Warm:
  1. Ignition on/off to on
  2. Set compression release – optional step even if saw is equipped with a compression release
  3. Pull (close) choke, set fast idle (done when choke closed on some saws) - Don’t pull with choke closed.
  4. Push (open) choke, pull starter until it starts. (usually first pull)
Hope this helps

I have a roybi 31cc weed eater and the fule line has become brittle and has broken apart. I need to know the layout of the new plastic fule line. I purchased a new fule line at Lowe's. I do not know wich...

STEP (1) The fuel supply line has the filter attached inside the fuel tank. The other end of that line goes on the carburetor's SUPPLY NIPPLE.

STEP (2) Determine the primer bulb's flow direction by pumping it under water. The unused nipple on the carb (IF STEP 1 WAS DONE CORRECTLY THERE IS ONE UNUSED NIPPLE STILL AVAILABLE ON THE CARB) will have a section of fuel line attached to it and running to the SUCTION NIPPLE (or pull-side, as some techs call it) of the primer bulb.

STEP(3) The final piece of fuel line goes from the OUTPUT NIPPLE (or push-side, as some techs call it) of the primer bulb and is routed back into the fuel tank as a return.

If plumbed properly, the primer should PULL fuel thru the carb and NOT pump any fuel into the engine. Excess fuel should be pumped back into the tank on each and every press of the primer.

Hope this helps!

The fuel primer does not fill and the engine does not start.

I would consider a clogged fuel line or a defective primer bulb. Replacement bulbs are available at numerous retail outlets that sell lawn care equipment. I take the old one with me for comparison purposes. You say that the engine will not start. Will it start if you apply fuel or starting fluid directly to the carburator? If the engine will run in that situation, then I would consider the primer bulb or a clog in the fuel system as the cause of the problem. Hope this helped and best wishes.

I have a homelitejacobsen 320 snowblower i replaced the primer bulb with one that has a single line running to it after it starts gas starts squrting out of the hole on the primer bulb how do i stop this

You need a "wet" primer bulb for the Jacobsen / Homelite snowblowers. A wet primer actually pumps gas - not air - a primer bulb with a hole in it was designed to pump air.

If you need a "wet" primer bulb email me and I will tell you where to get one for around $10 - basscatt at hotmail dot com
