Question about Hotpoint Aquarius WF000 Front Load Washer

3 Answers

Hotpoint WD 640, power filter failure, it was tripping the main power circuit breaker. I replaced the power filter with a new one, it powered on after this but came up with the F -18 error, I cleared out the rubbish from the black hose at the back of the washing machine and now the error is gone, however, when I now try and start a wash cycle, the light sequence for wash options, flash the door lock light comes on and goes off again, normally the door lock stays off and the water does not start pumping. Have I missed something or pulled something out by mistake that is causing this problem? Thanks for your help in advance.

You may have to check the latch and the switch. It may not sense the door correctly. Check also the wiring for loose connections or if there are some that are not connected from the board down to the switch/sensor. Check out as well if there are open wires while you are at it. Normally these are the things that affect it.

Sounds like it may be a problem with the main board. I would first check for any grounded wires. Check door switch which tend to be faulty. How is the power supply connections and fuse. Any loose soldering?

The main and top oven are not working.

Check the circuit breaker in the power panel. It will be two breakers with their handles joined One of them has tripped internally. This removed 220 but not 110 for the clock and light. You can try resetting the breaker, but if it tripped internally, then best practice is to replace it.

How to replace a fuse in a hotpoint

Check the circuit breaker for the plug the dryer uses. Open your house power panel and locate the breaker for the dryer. It will be 2 breakers connected together by a metal pin so when one trips it will trip the other. This shuts off 240 volts. Sometimes only one breaker will trip without tripping the other one. This leaves the dryer with 115 volts to work the rest of the machine but won't power the heating element. Replacing the breaker will fix the dryer.

We're is the fuse on the Jet 3

I hope this helps:
The main circuit breaker is located on the front of the battery tray.
Main Circuit Breaker: The main circuit breaker is a safety feature built into your power chair. When the batteries and the motors are heavily strained (e.g., from excessive loads), the main circuit breaker trips to prevent damage to the motors and the electronics. If the circuit trips, allow your power chair to "rest" for approximately one minute. Next, push in the circuit breaker button, turn on the controller, and continue normal operation. If the main circuit breaker continues to trip repeat- edly, contact your authorized Pride Provider.

Creda TVR2 trips on plug in

Possible that there is a short within the board or the circuit which needs to be probed with ISOLATION of the circuit one by one. This can be due to failure of the surge capacitor or the power supply section. Also this can be related to replacement of the program control module if the fault is isolated with the board.

My FFA70 fridge/freezer is causing my circuit breaker to trip, when I reset the circuit breaker the fridge/freezer will work again, but both the red bight temp warning light and the freezer defrost light...

kevinmdoyle... Hello and welcome to FIXYA,

Yours is a UK model... so I (usa) can't help you
on SPARES (motor start capacitor) ... however

Circuit breakers do go bad...!!
(easiest & cheapest to check first)

MUCH Easier to test the idea than you would imagine:
- Shut OFF your main breaker.
- Open your panel & swap the wire with an EQUAL breaker
- Tag the wires (to restore when finished trouble shooting)
- Restore the main breaker (wait & see)...

and don't forget to clean that CONDENSOR
per owner manual instructions.

If the failure persists... RESORE the BREAKERS.
HOPE it is the START CAPACITOR on your compressor.

Our Robinair a/c recovery machine has power to the switch, but will not power up at all, any ideas?

Please do the following : 1# Check main 15 amp circuit breaker (located on back of the machine) it may tripped, reset the circuit breaker. If breaker tripped again after reset, the circuit breaker need to be replace.
2# Verify line voltage is present at input of main power switch & output at switch turn ON. If line voltage is not present at power switch input, check connections between power switch and AC plug. If line voltage is present at power switch input, but not at output with power switch turned ON, replace power switch.
3# If all proceeding steps tested ok & problem still exist, you may nee to replace The main control module.
Hope this will help you, if so please vote for it.

Hotpoint Aquarius wd640p

i am sending you all the possibilities for your problem, check either of these causes ----and than let me know if it is solved----

Power from the house
Check to see whether there's power getting to the dryer. Is it plugged in? Check for blown fuses or tripped circuit breakers--your dryer uses two fuses or circuit breakers. The dryer could tumble but not heat if only one of the two fuses is blown. If you have circuit breakers, one of the two circuit breakers can trip, even if the two for the dryer are connected.

Heating element
Often a dryer heating element burns out, but doesn't trip the circuit breaker or blow a fuse. The heating element is simply a long coil of special wire. You can check it for continuity with an ohm meter. No continuity means the element is bad and you need to replace it--electric heating elements aren't repairable.

Thermal fuse
On many dryers, there's a thermal fuse mounted to the exhaust duct inside the back cover panel. The fuse--which is about an inch long--is usually embedded in black resin and mounted in a white plastic housing. If the fuse has blown, you need to replace it. (You can't re-set it.)

A common problem is for the main wiring connection from the house, at the dryer, to burn and break its connection. Because the dryer can still tumble with partial power, the connection may be only partially defective. You may need to replace both the power cord to the dryer and the terminal block inside the dryer that the wire is attached to.
